Meet Max – Pre-Loved Orange Tabby cat For Adoption by Owner in Friendswood Texas

Max is a Male Orange Tabby cat for adoption to a very loving home in or near Friendswood, Texas. This very special cat is 10 years old and weighs 7.5 lbs.

5 Amazing Things About Max:

– He’s a lap cat
– Likes being petted, and will rub up against me
– Looks so at peace so much of the time. It helps calm me when I’ve had a difficult day. He’ll sometimes lay on the ground and show his belly looking for a belly rub.
– Is patient while waiting for me to feed him after I get home from work. I have several tasks I need to do as I come in the door, and although he is hungry, he’s been very accommodating waiting for me to get to the task of feeding him and his brother their canned food.
– Will curl up next to me on the bed at night.

Max’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished cat, but circumstances beyond their control have made rehoming a must-do.

They are hoping to find the right home where this deserving cat will be loved unconditionally and kept safe, happy, healthy and well-cared-for.

If you have room in your heart and home for Max, then please offer a loving, forever home today. Max can’t wait to show you the true meaning of unconditional love.

Max’s Personality

Max is an indoor cat (which is a key reason why he hasn’t been microchipped; I have thought about it, but haven’t had the time yet to get it done). He is Mr. Calm, and loves being in someone’s lap or taking a quick nap. Max enjoys being petted and given love and attention.

Max’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

– Max loves cat treats; I’ve been giving him Friskies, but occasionally I’ll buy other brands and he enjoys them as well
– The dry food he eats is from Purina One, and he especially likes what comes from a freshly opened bag
– He gets Fancy Feast canned food every day, which he enjoys
– He likes playing with string-based toys and a stick underneath a piece of paper (newspaper works really well).

Cute Max Story:

Max came to us in 2015, so by the time his brother Skipper entered our home in 2019, he had been with us 4 years. You would think that being the first cat in the house, he would be more territorial and unwilling to accept another pet into the mix. However, that wasn’t the case. Although Skipper was having trouble adjusting to his new environment and accepting another cat, Max was patient and friendly for the time it took Skipper to acclimate to his new surroundings. Max is a sweet, sweet boy.

Why is Max Being Rehomed?

I am looking to rehome Max (and his brother Skipper) because my husband, who was retired, passed away unexpectedly a couple of years ago. Since then, I’ve been trying to continue looking after both of them at the same level the two of us (mostly him) did.

But with my declining health and various time commitments, I’ve started realizing that by myself I am no longer able to achieve the same level of care they had while both of us were alive. Plus, I will be moving halfway across the country in the next year or so, and these guys don’t travel well.

So I’m hoping they both can find another home in the Houston area (whether together or separately) that will give them the attention and care they deserve.

I will gladly provide any setups / supplies I have to help with this transition. Since I am also rehoming his brother Skipper, I may need to split the supplies if they end up going to different homes.

Max’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Max would fit in most anywhere and make his new family happy. He gets along with other pets (at least cats), and is very easy going. Otherwise, as mentioned, he tends to graze when it comes to his food, so it would probably be good for him to be placed in an environment where other pets won’t “finish his food for him”.

When eating, Max prefers to graze, vs. eating a complete meal at single sitting. I mention this in case his new home has multiple cats where the others aren’t willing to leave his food alone waiting for Max to finish it.

Max likes spending some time in the garage. I let him and his brother out there (with the garage door to the outside closed) for an hour or two in the evenings for a change of pace. Being that they are indoor cats, they can get bored, even in a 2-story house.

It provides them another place to hang out that’s different from inside. (Plus it gives me a chance to have dinner without dealing with cat fur in it while they’re trying to see what I’m eating.)
