Meet Orange Kitty – Pre-Loved Orange Tabby Cat for Adoption by Owner in Perris CA

If you had met me on the day I decided to choose humans again, you might have mistaken me for an ordinary orange cat sunbathing on a dusty patch of Perris concrete. But I was actually auditioning. I sat there with my little marmalade shoulders squared, practicing my tiniest meow—the one that sounds like a polite question mark—and hoping someone would notice that beneath the scruffy fur was a world-class lap warmer with a heart still shiny despite a few dents.

They call me Orange Kitty, which I think is less a name and more a compliment. I am, after all, extremely orange. I come with velvet ears, a purr that starts like an old pickup truck and ends like a lullaby, and a deep appreciation for being brushed. If you’ve never seen a grown cat melt into a puddle of gratitude because of a hairbrush, I would be delighted to demonstrate.

Life before I found my current people is a chapter I don’t talk about much. Let’s just say I learned that not all hands are kind and not all homes are safe. Still, I decided to keep my faith in the good ones. When I wandered up to a construction yard a few months ago, limping dramatically for effect—okay, maybe a little for sympathy—I was taking a gamble. And it paid off. I landed in the care of someone who looked at me and didn’t see a stray; she saw a friend.

She got me checked out, gave me shots, had me neutered, and even discovered I’m FIV positive. Don’t worry—that just means my immune system needs a bit of VIP treatment and an indoor lifestyle where I can be spoiled appropriately. The vet says I’m healthy and strong, with many cozy years ahead. Personally, I plan to spend those years specializing in lap sitting, window watching, and the occasional dramatic flop onto my back so you can admire my fluffy belly.

My favorite things are simple: the crinkle of a Temptations treat bag, the magic of Churu snacks, and evenings when the world gets quiet and I can curl beside my person like a warm question with a happy answer. Loud noises make me blink twice, but gentle voices make me brave. I haven’t quite figured out toys yet—maybe I’m saving that skill for the right teammate.

The hard part is this: the wonderful human who rescued me already has a house full of animals she loves. There just isn’t room for one more orange shadow under the same roof. Letting me go isn’t about lack of love; it’s because she wants me to have something better than a crowded corner. She wants me to have *you*—a peaceful home where I can be the only four-legged monarch of the couch, where my little meow will always be answered.

I imagine my perfect day like this: you make coffee, I supervise. You sit down, I magically appear on your lap as if summoned by destiny. In the evening we share the couch, and I tell you all about the birds I saw and the dust motes I heroically ignored. I don’t need much—just safety, kindness, and someone who understands that a once-abandoned cat can still become the most loyal companion in the room.

If you’ve been looking for a small orange soul to keep your secrets and your knees warm, I’m ready to apply for the position. My adoption fee is waived, my suitcase is packed with beds, dishes, and treats, and my heart is wide open.

All you have to do is say yes—and I’ll spend the rest of my life proving what unconditional love looks like in ginger fur.

Come meet me. I’ve been saving my best purr for you.

💛 About FIV — And Why Orange Kitty Can Still Be Your Perfect Companion

FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) sounds scarier than it really is. Many people hear those three letters and worry, but the truth is that FIV-positive cats like Orange Kitty can live long, happy, completely normal lives.

FIV simply means a cat’s immune system may be a little more sensitive. It is not a death sentence, and it doesn’t mean a cat is sick. Orange Kitty is healthy, playful, affectionate, and feels great—he just needs the same loving care any indoor cat deserves: good food, routine vet checkups, and a safe, stress-free home.

Here are the most important facts:

• FIV is a cat-only virus. Humans and dogs cannot catch it.
• It is mainly spread through deep bite wounds—not through cuddling, grooming, or sharing bowls.
• Many FIV+ cats live just as long as any other cat.
• Indoor life is the best way to keep an FIV+ cat healthy and thriving.

What Orange Kitty needs most isn’t special medicine or complicated care—he needs a gentle home, a cozy lap, and someone to love him. He doesn’t know he has a label. He only knows that being brushed feels wonderful, laps are magical places, and tiny meows are the best way to say “thank you for choosing me.”

If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal, affectionate orange tabby, don’t let FIV stand in the way of a beautiful friendship. Orange Kitty is ready to show you just how ordinary—and extraordinary—life with an FIV+ cat can be. 💫

Orange Kitty’s Personality

Friendly, loving, curious, a bit timid with loud noise. Loves being pet and brushes. Loves sitting on my lap

Orange Kitty’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He loves temptations treats and churu! He hasn’t played with toys too much.

Cute Orange Kitty Story:

When I made an appointment to take him to the vet the next day, he had been limping but the next day when he went to the vet he was not limping at all and the vet said nothing seemed to be wrong with his leg or foot. Maybe he was trying to get sympathy?

Why is Orange Kitty Being Rehomed?

Orange kitty was found at our construction company a couple of months ago. He did not come around consistently so I was not able to get him checked for a microchip right away. When I finally did get him checked, he did not have a chip and no one had claimed him from from the locations I notified. I got him shots, had him neutered and tested but his tested came back FIV positive. We are guessing that someone dumped him here.

I would love to keep him but I already have 3 rescue cats and 2 dogs at home as well as another rescue cat at work. I believe the best place for Orange kitty would be a home where he could be the only pet.

Orange Kitty’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Hopefully a peaceful family who can keep him as an only pet and inside the house so his immune system can stay as healthy as possible. I would love to see him be able to lay on someone lap or at least next to someone in the evenings and just be the little love bug that he is.

I would love to get an occasional update how he is doing and if ever he needs anything, I can help.
