Meet Archie, Domestic Shorthair Cat For Adoption in San Francisco CA

Archie is a Gray Tabby Male Domestic Shorthair Cat for adoption to a very loving home in or near San Francisco CA.

Archie is such a sweet little cat. This 8 year old male tuxedo tabby cat is very healthy, fixed, up to date on shots and well behaved. He is looking for a loving new home where he will be cherished.

He is fearful of the wild animals that live near his home in the country, and hopes to find a less rural home with a cat lover or two who will cherish him. He is great with older children – the purrfect pet to show your kids the meaning of unconditional love.

Archie’s Personality

– He’s always happy and excited to see us.
– He loves to be stroked and to be snuggled into your lap.
– He is super sweet with our 21 month old daughter. He lets her pet him, gently, and has recently started to follow her around for extra love. (He was not a huge fan of the baby phase … all of the crying worried him).
– He has the best little run (and waddle). He almost always comes when we call for him outside.
– He trills like a bird (he’s never quite figured out his meow).

Archie’s Current Home Environment

We live in a small ground-floor apartment, and he has access to outside (we always make sure he’s inside during the night). We live on a relatively quiet street in San Francisco, so he seems fairly street-wise with regards to cars etc.

Archie’s Current Family:

We have a busy schedule, working long hours each day. (We just can’t give him the attention he deserves).
We have a 21 month old daughter, who he ‘now’ loves spending time with, but he was not keen on the baby phase (all of the crying worried him).

Archie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He likes to play outside, climb walls, relax in the sunshine and watch the world whizz by. He’s more than happy being inside too, curled up, and snoozing. The second we sit down, he will jump on your lap. He was a strictly indoor cat for 7 years, so he’s happy either way.
He likes Blu Buffalo dried food, and Cat Craves chicken treats.

Cute Archie Story:

We used to renovate vintage furniture in our apartment. He thought it was his adventure playground … he used to hide in drawers, and find his way into every nook and cranny.

Why is Archie Being Rehomed?

He is extremely stressed by the amount of wildlife he sees from our ground floor apartment, with a highway of raccoon and skunk traffic passing by our front door … he’s getting seriously freaked out. We have taken Archie to the vets due to his stress levels, and the vet advised that we move (which is just not possible for us right now), or she suggested that the best solution may be rehoming him.

We also have a new baby due in a few months, and we work very long hours, so we just think rehoming Archie now is the right thing to do for him. We just want him to be happy again.

Archie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

His ideal situation would be to live in a wildlife quiet apartment/house (basically so he can’t see much from the windows). We want him to find a home that can give him lots of attention, love and a friendly lap to sit on.
