Meet Amy – The Blue-Eyed Heartbreaker of Los Angeles

If laughter had fur and boundless energy wore four little paws, it would look exactly like Amy. She’s a 4-month-old Siberian Husky puppy who approaches every day like it’s the world’s biggest adventure — and you’re invited to join. She’s part explorer, part comedian, and part cuddle-bug, somehow managing to be all three before breakfast.

Amy’s the kind of pup who’ll tilt her head when you talk to her as if she understands every word — and maybe she does. She greets strangers like long-lost friends, wiggles with joy at the mere mention of a walk, and has a PhD in the fine art of stealing hearts (and socks). Her squeaky toy collection is her pride and joy, though she’s convinced rope toys were invented solely for her personal entertainment. After an energetic romp or an epic game of fetch, she transforms into a nap connoisseur, curling up in a sunbeam with a satisfied sigh that could melt the iciest heart.

Her human mom adopted her from an LA shelter after losing her beloved senior dog, hoping to share her heart again with a pup in need. And what a love story it’s been. But sometimes, life’s script takes an unexpected turn. Amy’s owner’s father overseas has fallen ill, and with frequent travel now unavoidable, she realized she can’t give this exuberant young girl the consistent time and training she deserves. With a heavy heart — and endless love — she’s made the courageous choice to find Amy a forever home where joy, routine, and puppy kisses flow freely.

Amy’s still in her “curious toddler” phase, learning the ropes with great enthusiasm (and just a little selective hearing when something exciting happens). She’s bright, social, and already responding beautifully to positive training — a blank canvas ready to grow into a loyal, well-mannered best friend. She’d thrive with another friendly dog or an active family who believes muddy paw prints are just another form of art.

So if your home could use a dash of mischief, a heap of laughter, and a lifetime supply of unconditional love, Amy’s waiting with her leash in her mouth and a sparkle in her eyes.

Why is Amy Being Rehomed?

I’m originally from a foreign country. Recently, I heard from my brother that my father’s health is not in good condition. I might have to go back to my country often to care for my aging father near the future and I’m not confident to give her a good care she needs.

Amy’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

She would be happy to be with another dog because she is social. As she is an active puppy, a house with a spacious yard would be ideal.

When I saw her at one of the LA Animal Shelters, she was only 3 month old puppy and I felt sorry for her to be there. As I lost my previous dog in August at the age 12, I thought I wanted to give a happy life to another dog in the shelter like him. My daughter fell in love with her, and we have decided to adopt her.

It was very hard and challenging from day 1. I received her directly from the Spay/Neuter clinic, so I had to monitor and take care of her incision. She was unhappy, and because of the pain, her temperament was fussy all the time. Although my husband is out of town almost every other week and my daughter is on a demanding high school sports team, I have tried very hard to take care of her all by myself. I took her to a vet and solved all health issues, and she is a healthy puppy now.

Recently, I heard from my brother in Japan, where I am originally from, that unfortunately my aging father’s health condition is not good. He might have to be hospitalized. It makes me worried about him and I want to spend more time with him by going to Japan for a few months. I’m not confident in taking care of my recently adopted dog. Since she is still a puppy and easily capable of adjusting to a new family. Although I would like to give her a chance to be with a new family, it breaks my heart that I am failing to be a responsible adopter.
