Great Pyrenees McNab Herding Dog Mix For Adoption

Tasco has found his forever family.

Here is how our rehoming team presented Tasco to attract his new family:

Great pyrenees mcnab herding dog mix for adoption
6 month old Great Pyrenees mix puppy for adoption in Monroe, Washington. Tasco is an absolutely adorable and very unique mix of Great Pyrenees, and the very rare McNab Herding dog. He is very healthy, has been neutered, microchipped and had all of his shots. He is perfectly housebroken.

Tasco gets along very well with other dogs and cats, too. He’s a great big lumbering lunk of love, and his favorite activity is showing you just how much he loves you.

Being 6 months old, Tasco still has a lot of puppy exuberance left in him. He can be a bit like a “bull in a china shop”, so is probably not suited to homes with tiny children. He loves people though, and a home with bigger kids that he can’t accidentally knock down, and who have lots of time to play with him would be perfect.

Tasco is being rehomed by his owners. They love him very much, but realize that they were not prepared for the responsibilities that go along with raising a great big puppy. Being disabled and older makes having the energy and strength to train a large breed puppy more than they can handle.

Tasco’s owners are looking for a wonderful family to give Tasco the love, attention and guidance he needs and deserves. He needs a home with a securely fenced yard, and folks with lots of love and time to spend with him.

If you would like to offer Tasco a loving home, please fill out our online information form. Once received, we will have Tasco’s owner contact you to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet.

Personality

Exuberant, full of fun, loving, a little crazy when he plays, loves his “babies”, little stuffed animals from Good Will. He likes dragging around an old tarp, and loves it when we tie it up on a clothes line. He runs and attacks it, and hangs from it, it’s fun to watch him. He chews usually on bones we give him, but roots, boards, tree limbs, etc will work if he has no bone at the time. He does dig holes if he gets bored.

Reason For Rehoming

I bought him at 9 weeks old, love him, but my husband took a dislike to him, and can’t tolerate his “puppyness”. He is super loving, good with all animals and people. He is a large dog and just gets exuberant real easy.

He is not for a home with small children, nor is he a house dog. He loves “guarding” his large back yard, and prefers to be outside, but he craves interaction with other dogs or his people. We let him sleep inside at night. Has a lovely deep bark to deter trespassers, but would love them to death before hurting them.

Is food motivated and trains with food easily. We got him as a companion for my female dog, but he is just too big for her and wears on her nerves after a while. He is submissive, even with the cats. He just wants to lick them to death and get them to play with him.

Very good with entertaining himself, but I want him to go to a home where there is someone home during the day. I am disabled and don’t have the strength to train him to leash. I thought my husband would do that, but he just doesn’t like him. I want to keep him, but the choice I have is obvious……..
