We are happy to provide the right family with anything they need or want. We love Timber very much. We are trying to do right by her. We will support her.
Timber’s Personality
Lovable. Big teddy bear.
Timber is a lovable family dog. She is calm but barks at other dogs walking by. She will run away if we don’t have her Invisible Fence collar on. She actually does fine with other dogs but barks at other dogs when on a leash or when dogs walk by the house. (We are not very good dog trainers, so we think this is more our training than anything else.)
She loves to snuggle and be with people. She also does fine home alone. She is happy in a crate but she does not need one. She is not currently crated. She will sneak food off the counter if you aren’t paying attention. We are devastated to rehome her, but we are too busy to walk her or properly socialize her. She is 6 years old and very healthy. She thinks she is a lap dog.
Timber’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
She likes stuffies. She likes all kinds of treats. She is not picky.
Cute Timber Story:
She is excited to see us every day when we walk in the door. She is so full of love. The kids are so rough with her and she just tolerates it or talks to them. She’s had a few ear infections in the past. When she gets one, she likes to tell us secrets and tries to lick our ears. (Ps, We only had to wash out her ears to get them to feel better. She is very healthy.)
Why is Timber Being Rehomed?
She was not properly socialized because she was a young dog during Covid. She became reactive to some neighbor dogs and barks and tries to run after them. She’s fine when dogs come to our house and she gets to meet them properly. She’s around other dogs all the time. But, our kids are young and we don’t walk her enough. We’ve done a poor job training with this one issue. The kids leave our doors open and gates open all the time. It’s created so much stress that we don’t walk her. She just stays at home. She’s not getting the treatment she deserves. We’d like to selfishly keep her, but it’s unfair to her. We know we are the problem. It’s not Timber.
Timber’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Adults that want a lovable and amazing dog that is harmless but will alert when people come to the house would be perfect. She just wants to be with her humans all day. She likes to hang out near you, but isn’t needy at all. She’s often home alone all day and does fine. She deserves to be walked and exercised.
She would be a totally different dog with the barking at people that come to our door if she got socialized. We would love to see photos of Timber in her new home. Our kids would appreciate that. Timber is not reactive with our chickens, cats she’s met or our kids in any way. She just barks at dogs walking by or strangers coming to our door.
