Looking for an Australian Shepherd Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) Mix dog for adoption in Nashville, TN? Bisbee would love to be considered for the position of your cherished family companion.

What’s in Bisbee’s Mix?

Bisbee is believed to be primarily Australian Shepherd, but his soft, feathered coat, refined facial features, and expressive eyes suggest he may also have Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) in his lineage.

With a trim weight of 48 pounds, he’s a bit larger than a typical Sheltie, so it’s likely that breed is part of his ancestry rather than a direct parent. Some of his personality quirks — like his Velcro-dog loyalty, vocal expressiveness, and love of herding “his people” — point to a cocktail of herding breeds, possibly including Border Collie or Rough Collie.

The result? A beautifully unique dog with smarts, style, and a whole lot of heart.

Meet Bisbee: The Fluffy, Opinionated, Stick-Hoarding Gentleman You Never Knew You Needed

If you’ve ever dreamed of sharing your life with a dog who’s part guardian angel, part comedian, and part professional squirrel analyst… have a seat. Bisbee has a tale to tell — and it might just be about you.

Hello, future human.

I’m Bisbee. Six years young, 48 pounds of Australian Shepherd brilliance, and I’ve been told I’m “a bit much” — but only in the best way.

I wasn’t born with a silver food bowl in my mouth. But I was born with brains, bounce, and a bark that can keep the UPS guy six feet away from the porch. I’ve mastered the fine art of fetch, know how to sniff out a bully stick from three rooms away, and — here’s the kicker — I consider “car rides” to be the ultimate bonding ritual. If you crack the window and let my ears flap like victory flags in the breeze, I’ll love you forever.

I’m what the dog world calls a Velcro pup. Where you go, I go. Bathroom? I’m in. Couch? I’m next to you (but not on top — I’m loyal, not clingy). Kitchen? I’ll supervise.

My Greatest Hits (So Far)

  • That time I carried a tree branch the size of a canoe down the sidewalk. I looked ridiculous. I did not care. People clapped. I bowed.

  • My daily dialogue with the squirrels. It’s passionate. It’s intense. It’s wildly one-sided.

  • My bedtime ritual of checking every window, every shadow, every suspicious leaf. You’re welcome.

  • My dramatic sigh when denied table scraps. Oscar-worthy.

So, Why Am I Looking for a New Leading Role?

This part’s a little tender. My people love me — a lot. But life threw them one of those plot twists no one sees coming. A divorce and an international move later, and it’s clear I need a new cast of characters who can give me what I deserve: stability, belly rubs, and a backyard.

There’s no blame, no bad blood — just bittersweet love and the hope that someone amazing (maybe you?) will step into the role of “Bisbee’s Forever Human.”

Real Talk

I’m a stellar boy, but like any good character, I’ve got depth. I tend to be choosy with male dogs — especially if they think they’re the boss. (News flash: I am the boss.) I’d probably do best as your one-and-only or maybe with a chill lady pup who respects boundaries. Cats? No strong opinion yet. Kids? Great, especially if they’re past the tail-pulling stage (8+ is a safe bet).

The Dream

I imagine us living somewhere with space to roam — maybe a fenced yard, maybe a quiet piece of land where I can chase my dreams (and sticks) to my heart’s content. I’ll protect your house, ride shotgun on errands, and narrate your life with my expressive little grumbles and huffs. I don’t cuddle much, but I will watch over you like it’s my life’s mission. Because it kind of is.

One Last Bark

If you’ve got room in your life for a loyal, clever, occasionally ridiculous, always entertaining best friend… I’m ready. I come with my leash, collar, toys, bowls, and a heart that’s got just one vacancy: you.

Click that “Apply to Adopt” button and let’s start our next chapter.

I’ll bring the sticks.

With hopeful paws,
Bisbee
Nashville, TN (and proud of it)

🖤 P.S. There’s an adoption fee of $150, which helps ensure I go to someone serious about forever. I’ll also bring my vet records, supplies, and my charming habit of turning every day into an adventure.

Bisbee’s Personality

Bisbee is full of personality—super smart, energetic, and always ready for an adventure. He lives for chasing squirrels, playing fetch, and riding in the car.

He’s a classic “Velcro dog”— he wants to be near his person at all times—but he’s not much of a cuddler. Bisbee is a big talker, with a range of expressive sounds he uses to let you know what he’s thinking or needing. It’s one of his most endearing quirks.
Fiercely loyal and protective—he’ll let you know if a stranger is near the house. Likely happiest as the only dog, though he generally does well with female dogs. Can be reactive toward other male dogs, especially dominant ones.

Bisbee’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Loves to play fetch with the ball, loves stuffed babies though he does eventually rip them to smithereens. Loves bully sticks, and any table scraps he is offered. Absolutely the best car rider – loves to go for a joyride!

Cute Bisbee Story:

Anytime we go on a walk he is sure to find the largest stick (sometimes bigger than he is) and carry it along looking very proud of himself.

Why is Bisbee Being Rehomed?

Divorce and moving out of the country.

Bisbee’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A loving and patient home – a house with a yard would be ideal or I think he’d love farm life.
