Her little hops when she’s feeling playful and wants attention are irresistible. She loves anything related to food—she eats her veggies and absolutely adores watermelon. She loves her toys and will often toss them in the air and chase after them, happily playing on her own. Her eyes are her best feature—you always know exactly how she’s feeling, especially when she gives you her famous side-eye. One look at her and you can’t help but laugh.

Moana’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished dog, but circumstances beyond their control have made rehoming a must-do.

Moana is a sweet, affectionate English bulldog with a big heart and an even bigger personality. I’ve had her since she was six weeks old, and she has been deeply loved and cared for her entire life. She is incredibly loyal, very people‑focused, and loves being close to her person.
Moana enjoys going for walks and is a great hiking companion when the weather is cool. She is smart, eager to please, and has completed an intensive two‑week board‑and‑train program, where she did very well. She responds well to commands and knows sit, paw, and stay.
Moana is happiest when she can have her person’s full attention. She has become very attached to me and would do best in a home where she is the only dog. Being the sole pet allows her to relax and feel secure, as she can become anxious and protective around food or attention when other dogs are present.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision, made out of love and with her best interests in mind. Moana deserves a calm, stable home where she doesn’t have to compete for attention and where she can truly thrive.

A single person or couple

Moana’s Personality

This is the part where I start to cry. Moana is incredibly affectionate with her person. She’s feisty, sassy, and full of charisma. She has some of the goofiest expressions and is truly a little cutie bug. She loves going on walks and hikes when the weather is cool, and she’s the best walker and hiker of all our dogs and grand dogs. And her eyes—one look at them will absolutely melt your heart.

Moana’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Moana’s favorite food is simply food. If you’re eating anything at all, you’re guaranteed long stares and quiet, hopeful begging. She has a purple Kong squid that she loves to toss in the air and catch. She’s an amazing hiker and can walk for hours—as long as it’s a cool day and she has plenty of water.

Cute Moana Story:

There are so many funny stories about Ms. Moana, but I don’t think I can share them without breaking down. This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. All I know is that she will make you laugh like nothing else.

Why is Moana Being Rehomed?

The reasons for needing to rehome Moana have been building for a long time, and this is not a decision I want to make—but one I have to make. Moana has shown some aggression toward my older bulldog, Bo. While these incidents are infrequent, Bo is 10 years old, and I need to consider her quality of life.
Moana and Bo generally get along well unless there are outside stressors that trigger Moana. When that happens, she tends to redirect her aggression toward Bo. Although these episodes are usually brief, I can see the stress they are starting to place on my older dog. It also causes stress for Moana and intensifies her anxiety.
In addition, Moana has developed strong protective and aggressive tendencies toward anyone—human or dog—who comes near me. When other dogs visit, we often have to place her in a locked room after repeated, unsuccessful attempts to calm her.
When Moana is alone with just me or my husband, she is wonderful to have around and so much fun. However, introducing another dog into the mix is very triggering for her and becomes stressful not only for the other dog, but for Moana herself.
We made this heartbreaking decision after many years of hoping she would “grow out of it.” As our other bulldog continues to age, we want to ensure a good quality of life for both of them. We truly believe Moana would thrive in a home with a single person or a couple without other dogs—where she can be doted on, feel secure, and live a happier, more peaceful life. Ultimately, that is what we want most for her.

Moana’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We are looking for a professional single person or a couple without any existing dogs. Ideally, the home/apartment would have a small yard and a doggie door, as Moana has used a doggie door since she was a puppy.
