Maaz’s Personality
Maz has the intelligence of a toddler and even knows a few words, like- No, gentle, come, treat, walk, treat, eat, touch and speak. He likes playing hide and go seek around the house, playing tag and chase. He likes walking in the apartment hallways because it is enclosed and quiet. he goes in the same route each time and the hallways are empty. When I work from home, he just wants to sleep or stay awake but on my lap all day. he likes to sleep touching my legs when I sleep all night. for 9 years, he has slept touching me. He’s a snuggle bug.
Maaz’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
he loves when I hide his treats in his wooden puppy puzzle, he can find each one behind the hidden doors. He loves long fuzzy wants and flicking it around. He loves to sit in the empty bath tub and flick the wand over the side of the tub so he can try and quickly grab the long fuzzy tail of it. He loves empty boxes. sometimes I’ll bring home and empty box just so he has a new to him toy. He loves anything new brought into the house- he has to sniff it, look at it and will most every single time curl up on it and sit on it. Sometimes when I bring new things or a shopping bag into the house, I’ll leave it on the floor for him to conduct his routine.
Cute Maaz Story:
One time we lived on the top floor apartment 6 stories up he walked around the building on the 5 inch wide ledge and stayed in my neighbors patio. I didn’t realize the patio door was left open, when I went down to street level, I was calling his name and he started meowing back. From there, I was able to figure out which enclosed patio he was on (but couldn’t see him). Knocked on a neighbors door and asked if they had a cat on their patio, he said yes. I asked him if he would get it- he looked at me wide eyed and said NO. (I forgot Maz looks like a wild bob cat.) So I asked, well can I get him?
Why is Maaz Being Rehomed?
when we bought him 9 years ago at the pet store in Newport Beach I had a son at home in Jr. High who used to chase him around our 2 story house and play games with him all the time. now I live alone. My studio is small and I can’t give him the attention he will need. I also want to start traveling internationally more regularly.
Maaz’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Ideally, someone that doesn’t leave the doors to their home open. he’s an indoor cat only. he won’t come back if he gets out. And most people think he’s a baby bobcat when they see pictures. Someone that has children 10 yrs old or older that can play with him and someone in the house that is calm enough for him to relax and sleep with at night. If someone is high strung, he won’t relax and sleep on you.
I would love updates once a year IF they other family is open to it. If not, I can live without and will just be comforted knowing he is well loved.
