Let’s talk about Russell’s personality for a moment. This incredible dog is not only loving and affectionate but also a professional snuggler. He adores belly rubs and cuddling on the couch while binge-watching your favorite movies.

Russell’s favorite toys include anything he can sink his teeth into, especially tightly sewn squeaky toys and ropes. Just make sure to steer clear of strong bones – his powerful jaws might make short work of them!

Now, let us share a cute Russell story with you. During walks, Russell has a mischievous habit of suddenly lying on his back, refusing to get up. As you gently drag him for a short distance, he gets a fantastic back scratch right there on the street. It’s a sight that never fails to bring smiles and laughter to passersby.

Russell’s silly “dead rodent” impersonation!

So, why is Russell being rehomed? His current owners have another Australian Shepherd, and their lifestyle no longer allows for two pets. As they embark on a future filled with travel, finding reliable dog care for two dogs has become increasingly challenging.

Russell requires extra attention when meeting other dogs, and small children are not the best match for his excitable nature. They want the very best for Russell, and it’s a difficult decision to make, but they believe he deserves a home that can provide him with the care, attention, and love he truly deserves.

Are you the perfect match for Russell? If you don’t have small children or other pets at home, and if you can give him plenty of love and some daily exercise, then Russell might just be the missing piece in your life. He needs an agile owner who can handle his strength during walks. But most importantly, he needs someone who will open their heart and home to him unconditionally.

Rest assured, Russell’s owners are open to staying in touch and even watching him during your vacations. They adore Russell and want to maintain a connection, ensuring he still holds a special place in their lives. (So long as that is OK with you, of course!)

This is a very tough decision for Russell’s owners, but they want what’s best for him. They want him to live the best little fur life possible, and their current lifestyle and residence simply cannot provide that. Let’s help them find Russell the loving home he deserves.

So, are you ready to embark on a heartwarming journey with Russell? Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to experience a love that knows no bounds. Fill out our online meeting request form now and let us bring Russell into your life.

Together, we can make Russell’s dreams come true – cuddle at a time. Adopt Russell today!

Russell’s Personality

Russell is an extremely loving dog and is a super snuggler. He enjoys belly rubs and cuddling on the couch while watching movies. He is a very excitable dog and wants to say hi to every new person and dog he comes across. He also enjoys learning new tricks.

5 Amazing Things About Russell:

1) His cuddles
2) None stop love and affection
3) Excitement / greeting you when you walk through the front door
4) The laughs you have when he lays on his back and you have to drag him 20 feet in order to scratch his back (his favorite)
5) Staring contests

Russell’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Generally anything he can chew. He has very strong teeth, so he likes rope or tightly sewn squeaky toys. We tend to stay away from strong bones.

Cute Russell Story:

During our walks, he likes to suddenly without warning lie on his back and stubbornly not get up. People always smile and laugh as they walk by, as when we drag him slightly upside down, he gets a good back scratch on the street.

Why is Russell Being Rehomed?

We currently have another Australian Shepherd and our lifestyle is no longer conducive to having two pets. We are planning to travel a lot in future and it is increasingly difficult to find dog care for two dogs.

Russell is a bit more of a challenge to find a sitter, as he generally can’t be trusted on to get along other dogs (kennels are not an option) and most of our friends have small children that we want to avoid Russell being around because of his extreme excitability.

He needs a lot of exercise and we don’t feel we can provide him the full care and attention he deserves as our life has now evolved into a more mobile one. We love him dearly, but feel he would be much better off with someone that can give him all he deserves as he is a wonderful and incredibly loving dog.

Russell’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Someone that does not have small children or other pets at home. Someone that can give him plenty of exercise and someone who is agile enough to keep hold of him as he tends to pull on walks and is quite strong. But ultimately, someone that will provide him a loving home.

We are very open to staying in touch with whomever and will be very open to covering vacations for them. We love Russell and don’t want him gone entirely from our lives. This is a hard decision to come to but we want Russell to have the best little fur life he can and our lifestyles and residence at this time isn’t the best for that.
