There is a $75 adoption/rehoming fee. All supplies will be included.

Looking for a really great dog for your family? I would love to apply for the position. I am an adorable Basenji mix. I have a shiny black coat with the cutest white spotted markings. I am male, just 5 years old and weigh 50 pounds.  I have been neutered, am up to date on my shots, and very healthy.

My rehoming coordinator thinks that I am also part German Shorthaired Pointer, but we don’t know that for sure.

I have such an interesting history. My owner, who loves me to bits, found me as a stray in Africa. Yup… Africa! That’s probably why I can run like the wind. (Lots of practice chasing Cheetahs!) She adopted me when she lived there, and brought me back to the USA with her. She had always intended for this to be a permanent situation, but things have changed, and my family no longer have the right home for me.

There are 2 reasons that finding me a good home is the best solution;

My family is having to move into an apartment, and there is no outdoor space for me there. I am an athletic dog and I love to feel the wind in my ears as I run like a gazelle.  There will be no place or opportunity to do that in their new residence.

My family are all working very long hours – 12 hours a day. That leaves no time for me, and I am spending far too much time alone, in my crate. That’s not why my owner brought me here! She wants me to have the best life ever.

We are dearly hoping to find me a loving home with a family who have some wonderful, energetic kids, a large, securely fenced yard, and plenty of love in their hearts. I am a really loving, good natured dog, and will add plenty of joy, laughter, compassion and companionship to your home.

I am great with other dogs, but not so with cats. Please open your heart and home to me today. I can’t wait to meet you.

Love and licks,

Bailey

Bailey’s Personality

His personality, his big smile, the way he runs like the wind, the fact that he is from Africa and the fact that everyone else loves him

Bailey’s Current Home Environment

We have children and a baby. We also have a big fenced garden.

Bailey’s Current Family:

We have four girls, one of whom is a baby and the oldest is 16. All of them love Bailey and it will be a real wrench to lose him from our family.

Bailey’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He loves to chew on things and benefits from having non-destructible chew toys. He loves treats and loves toys with the empty water bottles inside.

Cute Bailey Story:

I found Bailey 4.5 years ago on the streets in Africa in the pouring rain. He was shivering, soaked and freezing, but I took him home, cleaned him up and then brought him to America. His is a rags to riches story and he deserves to continue to have the best life possible.

Why is Bailey Being Rehomed?

We are moving into a small apartment with no outdoor space. He is a dog that loves lots of room to run around and being off the leash if possible. We will also be working long 12 hour days and won’t be able to give him the attention and love he needs.

Bailey’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A family with children would be best. And if they had outside space he could run around in, even better!
