All About Adopting Clover and Violet

Looking for bonded duo of sweet black and white bi-color female cats to adopt in Mississauga, Ontario and area? Just 7 years old and weighing about 4.2 kg each, Clover and Violet are looking for their forever home. These healthy cat sisters have been fixed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. They are good with adults, and cat-friendly, older children. Although they have not had any experience with dogs, they should be fine with very laid-back, cat-friendly dogs.

From Kuwait to Love

These gorgeous bonded sisters have a very interesting backstory: their owner found a litter of kittens in a dumpster in the streets of Kuwait, where she currently resides. She rescued these tiny kittens from the garbage, and bottle-fed all six of them until they were old enough to eat on their own.

Being a cat or kitten in Kuwait is no picnic – people place very little value on the lives of dogs and cats in the Middle East, and Kuwait is no exception. Had their owner not nursed them all from such an early age, the kittens would have surely died, since rescues do not have the time or resources to deal with the intricacies of such time-consuming and dedicated care.

Their rescuer found homes for all but Clover and Violet, who were lucky to have remained with her, and have grown up to be very sweet, affectionate and gorgeous cats. They are extremely close, and must be adopted together as a bonded pair.

Meet Clover and Violet

Clover and Violet are very sweet and social cats. They are incredibly affectionate towards one another, and to their humans. They are playful, curious, sometimes mischievous and often cuddly. Their purrs will melt your heart and their melodic meows add plenty of joy to the world around them. Clover and Violet are a matched pair – their markings compliment each other perfectly.

Why are Violet and Clover Being Rehomed?

Clover and Violet’s owner is from Mississauga, and has been living in Kuwait for the past 10 years. She is in the process of making the transition to come back home to Canada, but hasn’t any firm plans as of yet. Her first concern is making sure that her two beautiful cats have found a happy home in Canada, where she knows they will be safe, well-cared-for and loved unconditionally.

She does not want to leave their well-being and welfare to chance, and feels that leaving them behind in Kuwait would put their lives in great peril, considering how she discovered them with their tiny siblings in a closed box in a dumpster – as if they were trash.

How Will Violet and Clover Get to Mississauga?

They will be travelling to Canada with the assistance of their current vet, who will be helping to arrange their flights. This can take about a month, on average.

What Type of Home Will Be Best For Clover and Violet

Clover and Violet will be timid and shy when they first meet you, especially after travelling from so far away. Cats are funny creatures – they are very territorial and have a strong survival instinct, which causes them to be extra careful in new surroundings and with new people.

They will need to be left alone at first, with a clean litter box, fresh water and ample food available to them. They will likely hide for a few days, but will come around in their own time; first Violet and then Clover. Once they warm up to you, you will have the most adorable, affectionate, funny and sweet pair of purring machines, with the added mystique of being from the Middle East.

Their ideal new home will be a quiet home without other pets or small children. All members of the family will need to understand the information above, and give the girls a chance to get their bearings and warm up to become the amazing companions that they have been to their owner for the past 7 years.

Clover and Violet’s Personalities

Clover – confident, cuddly, enjoys to sit on your lap as much as possible, inquisitive, can be demanding for attention if she feels she is not getting enough (ie. by walking on your stuff non stop till you put it away so she can sit in your lap), loving, most adorable meows, very playful if you have things on strings, enjoys licking just washed skin ie. after you’ve showered, reaches up for pets, enjoys being picked up and rubbing her face all over your hand, okay with belly rubs. When scared she gets aggressive to others including her sister – but she gives fair warning to stay back and if the person stays back then nothing comes of it. She has never chased someone for example. It is only because of fear. She is picky with her treats and will only eat them if she feels like it. If she is scared, she will not eat anything at that time. Enjoys playing with her sister.

Violet – confident, clingy, she needs to be in the same room that you’re in but won’t spend too much time in your lap, needs lots of pets, enjoys belly rubs, inquisitive, can be demanding for attention if she feels she is not getting enough (ie. by biting what you’re holding or trying to push it out of the way with her head), vocal and responds mostly if you talk to her, does not enjoy being picked up and will usually pull herself out of your arms, little investigator – can get into different things – even purses unless they’re hung up, loves running into the kitchen when the door is opened and sitting to watch you do everything – demanding some treats along the way, she will eat basically any treat at any time. Beyond loving. When she is scared she will hide but she opens up quickly to newcomers. She has never once been aggressive. Enjoys playing with her sister.

Why are Clover and Violet Being Rehomed?

I live in Kuwait and have been there for 10 years, my family is from Mississauga, Canada. I will be moving back sometime within the next year or so. Pets in Kuwait are not treated well, especially since my girls are not the “fluffy, pretty” cats, I don’t trust anyone to take them in Kuwait. Kuwait has a high stray population, I feel that they would quickly be dumped. They’re from a litter of 6 who were dumped in a closed box by a dumpster.
