Looking for a Border Collie mix dog for adoption near Saint Louis MO? Higgins would love to meet you. This very sweet almost 2 year old Border Heeler is amazing. He is so smart and is filled with so much joy for life.
Higgins weighs 49 pounds and has a short red and white coat which he got from the Red Heeler side of the family. He has adorable, floppy ears and very expressive big brown eyes from the Border Collie side.
Higgins has been neutered, is up to date on shots, micro-chipped and house trained. He has also undergone obedience training. He is in excellent health, and veterinary records will be included to his new home.
He is super smart and very affectionate. He is good with kids of all sizes and ages, and loves to spend time with other dogs who share his energy level and playfulness. He is good with dog-friendly cats, too.
Higgins is anything-but a couch potato! He likes to get up and do stuff, go places and have lots of fun every day. He can be a little on the submissive side when it comes to other dogs, but works hard to make friends wherever he goes.
Higgins family loves him to bits, but they are just not able to provide him with the level of daily excitement and activity he craves. They are concerned about his happiness and well-being, and feel he would do better in a home with another high energy dog to play with. He needs a home with a big, securely fenced yard, and someone to spend time with him.
Higgins would be an amazing ranch hand. He combines the best qualities of two awesome herding and ranching dogs. He learns quickly, and would be so happy to have a job to do.
