Cute Max Story:
One day little girl fell and hurt herself. She was crying, so Max went running up to her, sat down right beside her and put his head down on her lap to comfort her.
When I am sitting on the couch he will come up and put his paw on my lap, then put my hand over his paw. It’s kind of like playing Patty cakes.
Why is Max Being Rehomed?
New Mom with a small child and a new baby. Husband works a job that takes him out of town for weeks at a time. It is really hard to give Max the attention, exercise and stimulation he needs. We want what is best for him, and feel he would do well with a dog lover or family that can provide Max with everything he needs. He would love to go to a home on an acreage where he can practice his herding dog skills.
Someone who is involved with dog sports would find him to be an excellent candidate.
Max’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
We want a home that will be his forever home. Someone who understands Border Collies and Huskies and who will continue his training. They should at least have a very large, securely fenced yard (6 foot fence) , ideally, a family or couple who are home most of the time (post Covid), an acreage or country home would be perfect. Max is used to having people around all the time. He would not do well being crated all day, and cannot be left alone for long periods of time – we would be able to handle an occasional alone time (4 hours at most) . Someone who works full time away from home might be considered, but they would have to commit to taking him to doggie daycare every day they work.
Max is an amazing puppy. We want his new owners to cherish him as much as we do. We have lovingly raised him to be the almost perfect dog that he is today. We hope to stay in touch with Max, and are here to answer any questions or provide suggestions regarding his care and behavior.
You will be able to call or text his owners any time.
