Montu and Sekhmet are absolutely adored by their owners. Unfortunately, life has made rehoming the dogs necessary, as the owners are living in an apartment, and can no longer afford the high costs of doggie daycare in Virginia. Living in an apartment is no life for a pair of large breed dogs that enjoy being outdoors so much. The dogs really need to be in a cool climate and in a country home with a large outdoor area where the dogs can run, play and be with nature.
Montu & Sekhmet’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished dogs. They are hoping to find a new home for Montu & Sekhmet where they will be cherished and kept safe, happy, and healthy for life.

Montu & Sekhmet’s Personality
Montu is so happy and friendly. He exhibits a lot of typical male dog traits but he loves meeting other dogs and acclimate to them quickly.
Sekhmet (Seki) is energetic and loves people- particularly men. She is very smart and her body language is very indicative of her mood.
Both can be vocal if excited; both will howl if coached to by humans. Neither bark unless really excited or egged on by humans. They need to be enclosed in a yard so they do not chase after small animals due to their prey drive.
They are not related but are bonded. Someone would need to take both.
They are great with people and babies- particularly Seki who adopts a very maternal and nurturing attitude around them.
Neither has been around small children but I think they would be fine with them once they got used to their energy.
Why is Montu & Sekhmet Being Rehomed?
Our living/financial situation has required us to utilize a sitter who has a large property 6 days a week. We live in an apartment. We love them but cannot provide them the quality of life in Virginia they deserve.
We are not attempting to “get rid of” our pups. We expect an excellent situation for them with a loving family that improves their quality of life- colder weather for more of the year; property to run around on. This is extremely difficult for us- we do not have children and consider them our kids. We pay our sitter a lot of money each month to look after them.
