Not a cat lover? Me either! I am a DOG, and I love to chase cats! Being a Beagle / Basset Hound mix, living in harmony with felines is very difficult for me – it’s just my nature.

But when it comes to hanging out with other dogs… well, sign me up! I love other dogs, and really love playing and wrestling with them.

I am a big ole goofy girl. I make hilarious facial expressions and add plenty of fun to life.  I am a super smart, kinda stubborn dog with a heart of pure gold. I am not everyone’s cup of tea, as I have an independent spirit and need an owner with a firm hand to keep me in line. I am only 3 years old, so there is lots of potential for me to become the best dog ever with a bit of training and lots of positive reinforcement.

I am a fairly big girl at 60 pounds. I have a gorgeous black and white tuxedo coat with cute white socks. I don’t need a lot of grooming, just keep my ears clean and dry for me and give me an occasional rub down.

I am very healthy. I am spayed, up to date on my shots, crate trained and house trained. My owner will provide all my veterinary records.

My owners love me a lot, but living in an apartment with three cats… well, you can just imagine that it is pure chaos. I am a country dog! I want to live in a house with a nice big fenced yard, or, better yet, on a farm or acreage with plenty of room to romp and play.

I would love to have some older kids to give me the exercise and mental stimulation that I crave, but I am not a good choice for small kiddos.

I am a diamond in the ruff, for sure. In the right environment and with an owner who can lay down the law to me, I will shine! Please offer me a loving, forever home today. I can’t wait to meet you!

Olive’s Personality

She is a quick learner, has a spunky personality, acts silly when she’s playing, makes great facial expressions, and behaves very well.

Olive’s Current Home Environment

Currently in an apartment with 3 cats and a huge yard with underground fence. Neighbor dogs everywhere, so no shortage of friends to play with!

Olive’s Current Family:

We just got married a few weeks ago and are currently planning our future elsewhere. We have 3 cats, all over 3 years old, and an almost 3 year old dog. I work part time retail and my husband works full time retail.

Olive’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She has a basket of toys she picks from when she wants to play, but her favorites are her Kong pull you and her purple Kong tube. She loves getting the occasional bacon grease drizzled on her food, and goes nuts for rawhides. Going for car rides anywhere (even just up the driveway) are her favorite, with walks coming in a close second.

Cute Olive Story:

She knows one of the neighbor dog’s names, so when I say “Is that Dottie?” she goes nuts barking and whining and looking out the windows! She loves Dottie!

Why is Olive Being Rehomed?

We want her to have a home where she can be herself and not have as many rules as she does here. We seem to always be getting onto her for anything she does, and she’s inside most of the day because we both work. We would really like for her to have a home with lots of outdoor space and maybe other dogs to play with or older kids who can wear her out and give her the attention she needs. She also terrorizes the cats.

Olive’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Large yard/land, other dog/s, no cats or young children but older children (middle school and up) is good, willing to let her do what she loves.
