Bellatrix – Longhaired Calico Cat For Adoption in Santa Clara CA

Bellatrix’s Personality

She is independent, yet loving and sweet. The markings on her face make her look a little edgy, hence the name “Bellatrix” (named after the Harry Potter character), she loves to curl up in your lap, or just curl up in her bed. She will let you trim her claws with no fuss. She is an indoor cat and she loves to sit in the window and watch the birds, she also loves to play with her toys. She has never once scratched the furniture or jumped on countertops (even when there is food there that she would love to eat!).

I am heartbroken about having to rehome Bellatrix, she is such a good little girl, I just want to find the best home that I can for her so she can be happy. Also, I don’t know if she would get along well with small children as she has never been exposed to them before, so I’d prefer to have her go to a home that is currently adult (or older children) only

Why is Bellatrix Being Rehomed?

We are in a heartbreaking situation, we adopted Bellatrix as a kitten 8 years ago and she got on famously with our two older cats. They have since passed and we mistakenly thought Bellatrix might want a new companion. We adopted a special needs cat and Bellatrix hates him. We cannot keep them in the same area of our tiny house and we are constantly moving them from room to room to keep them separated. Neither of them are happy (we have been trying for 2 years!). We feel that Bellatrix would be the best choice for rehoming as the special needs cat has and will continue to have large vet bills and he needs to stay in our home so we ensure he continues to get the care he will need throughout his life. Bellatrix is a sweet loving little girl and I know someone will fall in love with her.
