Looking for an amazing small dog for adoption in Los Angeles? Chloe might be the dog of your dreams. This small Labrador Retriever mix weighs just 28 pounds and is as cute as a butterfly’s elbow. Chloe is just 18 months old and has been spayed and fully vaccinated. She is microchipped, house trained, leash trained and ready to love.

Chloe has had a particularly rough start in life, with an owner who very likely abused her. She was found wandering around on Skid Row, bedraggled, malnourished and in desperate need of assistance and care. She has since blossomed into a beautiful and healthy little dog, and has the most amazing and affectionate personality. She has had training and plenty of positive reinforcement from her foster mom, Liza, and is ready to find her forever family.
Because of the abuse and neglect she suffered as a puppy, Chloe has some mild anxiety issues. She is fine staying home on her own for about 4 to 6 hours, but beyond that becomes anxious. She is best suited to a home with another dog needing a playmate, and with a family who have a nice, big securely fenced yard for her to play in. The best situation for her will be with owners who have lots of time to spend with Chloe (work from home, home school, semi-retired or retired dog lovers would be perfect)
Chloe’s foster mom would really love to remain a part of her life, and would be happy to dog sit for her new family as needed. She would love the opportunity to take her for dog park outings a couple times a month if the family is comfortable with the arrangement..

She doesn’t allow walkers to take her out of the house, and has separation anxiety that sets in around 6 hours if she is left totally alone (she’ll generally find something plastic to chew on.) She just needs a ton of love and a home that can give her a ton of time and she will give that love back.

Chloe’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
She loves bones, stuff toys, playing tug of war and she loves going to the dog park. She gets along with all of the dogs and has so much fun wearing herself running around with them.
Cute Chloe Story:
Every day I come home Chloe is happy to see me, no matter if it was a 30 minute errand or 4 hours. Her new thing is wanting to be picked up like a kid, and she’ll wrap her front paws around my neck for a hug. It’s the sweetest thing, and she really holds on! My friends and family like to say she loves love, and once she knows she can trust you she just wants to give all of her love to you.
Why is Chloe Being Rehomed?
While Chloe is amazing, she doesn’t like to be alone for more than 4-6 hours (max) and because of how nervous she can be with new people she will not let a walker take her out (I’ve even tried a consistent person.) She needs a home that has a family, another dog, or someone who works from home that can really give her what she needs and deserves. She does well at daycare, but it is very expensive and unfortunately not a cost that I can sustain long-term on my own.
Chloe’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Chloe would be an amazing second dog for a family. She loves being around another dog, and all of her other issues seem to dissipate. The more people and dogs around her that she loves, the happier she is.
She would also be great with someone who works from home, and is really looking for a dog that can go anywhere with them.
