Wallace struggles with separation anxiety. It’s fairly well managed at this point and I can share details of how I keep him content. Once he’s settled into his home, he’s never really been one to damage things or make a lot of noise and disturb neighbors. The main manifestation of his anxiety is trembling and panting and general signs of unhappiness. Mild medication helps for long absences (more than an hour or two) so he can relax and sleep.
Gets along with: Babies, Toddlers, Small Children, Older Children, Dogs CA,ts
Pet is: Neutered, Microchipped, Fully vaccinated, House Broken
Food: Other
Wallace has been eating a raw food diet, half in the morning half at night. He’s previously been on kibble diets, though, and has done fine so I believe he could be transitioned to something else with ease. I’d send him to his new home with a good amount of what he’s been eating.

Wallace’s Personality

Wallace is incredibly loving, sweet, and sensitive. He’s become cuddly over the years and is very attached to his people (see separation anxiety above). He’s also very quiet and calm and you would think he doesn’t even bark until someone knocks at the door or he sees another dog. At the dog park he barks (in excitement) nonstop and makes a real name for himself. He’s a little clumsy with interaction with other pups (the racket is prob part of the problem), but loves to run around with them and sometimes really clicks with another dog for a good chase. Wallace doesn’t play with toys and doesn’t really seem to understand what they are for (perhaps a by product of some sort of traumatic puppyhood). He can be shy and wary with new people, but usually warms up well. He’s wary of children that aren’t practiced with dogs, but he’s also very tolerant and puts up with harassment well. He’s not very food motivated, is very smart and also very headstrong, but he’s also really easy to get along with and demands little. He’s super lazy and doesn’t particularly love walks unless the weather is real nice. He’ll frequently walk to the curb to do his business and then turn around and go straight back in. Wallace is really a lover and a chiller, not so much an adventurer or player. =)

Why is Wallace Being Rehomed?

I am moving to Sweden and moving in with my partner, who is allergic to dogs. This journey would be very tough for Wallace and me with a situation on the other side that’s challenging because of managing my partners allergies, so I believe the best answer for Wallace is to find a new loving home. One key to Wallace’s happiness is, I believe, allowing him to sleep in the bed with you as the isolation over night is painful for him.
