Our Rehoming Process
Our goal is to make the rehoming experience as smooth, safe, and stress-free as possible — for both you and your pet. Here’s how the process works for pet owners in Nashville and surrounding areas:
- Submit a Rehoming Request: Complete our rehoming intake form to tell us about your pet and your goals for finding them a new home.
- Create a Pet Profile: We’ll create a compelling adoption profile based on the information you provide, highlighting your pet’s best qualities to attract ideal adopters.
- Ongoing Promotion: We actively promote your pet on our website, across popular pet adoption sites, and on social media — and we continue marketing your pet until a loving new home is found, no matter how long it takes.
- Screen Potential Adopters: Every interested applicant completes a detailed adoption application, which we carefully review to assess compatibility, lifestyle, and commitment.
- Facilitate Introductions: We assist you in coordinating safe, private meetings with pre-approved adopters so you can personally meet the families interested in your pet.
- Adoption Agreement: Once the right family is selected, we provide a comprehensive adoption agreement to protect your pet’s future welfare and ensure a clear, secure transition.
- Transition Support: We guide both you and the new owner through the transition process, offering tips to reduce stress and help your pet settle comfortably into their new home.
- Ongoing Support: We offer post-adoption support (included with the Standard and Premium packages) to help ensure your pet’s long-term success and happiness in their new home. We’re also there for you, should you need a compassionate shoulder to lean on at any time throughout the process.
You stay fully involved throughout the process — and you make the final decision about who adopts your pet.
