Tilly loves people, but because of her history of coming from a puppy mill, she has a couple of quirks that make her unsuitable for her current home. These quirks are the result of being fearful, and mainly surface around people she is unfamiliar with. 

In spite of these issues, in the right home, Tilly will shine. She has so much joy for life and loves to play and delight her owner with her cute antics. She needs an owner who is aware of the few triggers that she has and will be proactive in avoiding them. (And be understanding, loving and forgiving when she is triggered - understanding that this is not Tilly's fault - but the result of her mistreatment as a young puppy).

People can come around and as long as they don’t try to pet her, she is ok. Will usually bark whenever they move, but won’t bite. Best to let her come to you.
She nips/ bites when she is scared or tired and disturbed. Best not to let her fall asleep near you because she needs a warning that you are about to move around. She shouldn’t be around children. Gets along with some dogs, but not all.

Tilly’s Personality

She is usually pretty happy. Loves to go for walks, but will bark at some people and most dogs. She absolutely loves to play and has tons of energy. Can get pretty moody if she is tired.

Doesn’t like a lot of noise or many people around all at once. She is a little afraid of the dark I think. Sometimes I actually have to go out with her at night or she won’t actually go

Tilly’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She loves soft toys with squeaky things in them.
Likes soft squishy balls, but nothing hard. She gets scared of them. Loves to run and is really fast.
She eats hard food from Costco, but I put water or sometimes a little soft food or eggs in it at times to entice her to eat. She loves treats of all sorts.

She loves to play and when she catches her toys she actually uses her paws like a football player.

Why is Tilly Being Rehomed?

She is nipping biting at people, but the main reason is the one person lives in the house and is 82 and she is now kind of scared of her and does want understand how to deal with her.

Tilly’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Someone who lives alone or just with one other person. Has a fenced yard for her to run around. Will take her for walks. Has patience for her barking and to learn her behaviors so they don’t have to worry about her nipping.

Has experience with dogs. Doesn’t normally have kids around cause she hasn’t really been exposed to them and I wouldn’t trust her around them. Someone with energy and patience, probably best between 40 and 65yrs old.

Fine if they were younger, as long as no kids. She is off and on with other dogs, so hard to say if she would get along with another. She gets along with big dogs more than small.
