Everybody in the neighborhood knows him by name, and me by “Bandit’s dad”

Male Havanese – Purebred – AKC Registered – 7 years old
This Havanese (national dog of Cuba) is a purebred who is registered at the American Kennel Club.
He will turn 7 years old on April 17. He is neutered and chipped, and comes with all of his health records.
This sweet little boy is a joy to be around, he is friendly with virtually everyone. He loves babies and small children. He wants to make friends with every dog (and cat) that he sees.
Like most Havanese, this little guy does not like to be left alone, they call it separation anxiety. His separation anxiety is MORE SEVERE THAN MOST. I must take him everywhere that I go, otherwise he would bark and cry until my return, or until he makes himself sick.
I need to re-home him with a family that can keep him happy and healthy BY NOT LEAVING HIM ALONE. Being alone for even a few moments makes his little sole very unhappy.
The reason I need to re-home this little guy (that I really love) is that he was my wife’s dog and my wife passed. He should have an environment that has more stimulation than one old man.
The ideal situation for him would be a home where he would be around people and maybe one or more small dogs that are compatible. The best situation would be if he had other Havanese to be home with. He does very well with babies and children.
He requires a special Vet prescribed food that is somewhat expensive, $40 for about a 45 day supply.
He comes with a crate that he sleeps in. Also comes with various toys, beds, etc.
I WILL ONLY RE-HOME HIM AFTER I AM ASSURED THAT HE WILL BE TREATED WELL, AND I FEEL THAT THE NEW HOME WILL MAKE HIM HAPPY. For this little guy happiness means never being left alone.
At 18 ½ pounds he is sort of plump, only because his dad is such a soft touch and gives him too many treats. Hopefully in his new home his new parents will have more will power.
The little guy does not like change, when he goes to a new home he will let you know that he does not like change by a lot of barking and carrying on, for a while..
If you are not ready for your home to be disrupted by an unhappy dog that is barking a lot, you should not consider adopting him !!!! Hopefully that behavior will not last too long.
In the pictures you will see him with short hair (now) and long hair (most of his life)

Why is Bandie Being Rehomed?

My wife passed, he was her dog. I love the little tyke, but I think he would be better off in an environment that has more stimulus than one old man.
