Purebred Ragdoll Cat For Adoption in Anacortes Washington – Supplies Included – Adopt Barney
Looking for a Ragdoll Cat for adoption in Anacortes WA and area? Just 3 years years old and weighing 14.5 pounds, this lovely Ragdoll Cat has been Neutered, Microchipped, Fully vaccinated, Crate Trained, Litter Trained. Barney is best suited for a home with just one or two cat lovers who have a quiet home, follow a daily routine, and who can give Barney the love, attention, companionship and care that he thrives on.
Barney’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their beloved cat. Barney differs from the majority of cats in his breed group in that he does not like dogs. His owners had no idea that this would be the case when they adopted a Miniature Dachshund puppy, and Barney has made it abundantly clear that he will not permit it. Barney has become so stressed with the addition of his dog-brother that he has had to be placed on Fluoxetine (Prozac)
Barney loves to be the center of attention – the apple of his owner’s eye. He is friendly and accepting of visitors, but has never been exposed to children. His ideal new home will be a quiet one without other pets. He would make a wonderful companion for a retired or senior couple or single with lots of time for him, and who follows a daily routine.
Barney will be rehomed with a treasure trove of supplies and accessories, including litter boxes, litter mats and litter; cat tree; combs; nail trimmers; an exercise pen with sunscreen top for use on a deck; microchip and TICA registration information. All you need to add is unconditional love and a safe, happy and healthy home. Adopt Barney today!

Barney’s Personality
Barney has never been a lap cat, but enjoys being with us and other people. Other than his issues with our dog, Barney is very social and always comes to meet and hang out with anyone who comes to the house, including service technicians, neighbors and friends. Barney has never been around children, so we think a quiet adult household (single or couple) would be best for him.
Barney is a very sweet and mellow cat whom we believe would do well as an only pet in an adult-only home. Barney is an indoor-only cat and should remain so. It is very sad for us to re-home him, but both Barney and our dog deserve a stress-free environment. After Barney is re-homed and has settled in, he might be able to be slowly weaned off the fluoxetine under a vet’s direction. If he remains on fluoxetine, he’ll have to have blood chemistries periodically monitored. We will supply all medical records; food; automatic feeder; fluoxetine; pill cutter and crusher for the fluoxetine; litter boxes, litter mats and litter; cat tree; combs; nail trimmers; an exercise pen with sunscreen top for use on our deck; microchip and TICA registration information.
Why is Barney Being Rehomed?
Shortly after Barney turned 1, we got a male miniature dachshund puppy. They got along at first, but Barney became increasingly stressed/jealous of the dog, which resulted in improper elimination outside his litter boxes. His vet prescribed fluoxetine, which stopped the litter box problems within 2 days, but hasn’t eased Barney’s stress about the dog. Barney is bigger than the dachshund and many times has pinned him down, unprovoked. A week ago, Barney pinned the dog down and caused 2 puncture wounds in the dog’s chest with his claws. Luckily, the wounds didn’t become infected. Barney could seriously injure the dog if we couldn’t get to them in time. Barney deserves a stress-free environment and the dog needs to be safe.
