5 Amazing Things About Oliver:

He is very playful, he can be sweet at times, he is very goofy, he loves to purr and knead his favorite blanket

Oliver’s History

Ollie had a really rough beginning in life, and as a result, wasn’t socialized as well as some kittens are. He almost died as a result of the abuse and neglect he suffered at the hands of his original owners, so it is hard to fault the poor little guy from having needing to work on his manners.

What kind of behaviors does he have currently?

. Like all cats, Oliver has a sensitive nervous system. It is important not to get too carried away petting him, or he will let you know he has had enough rather rudely -with a quick nip. This is very common, but inexperienced cat owners may not realize this. For this reason, he is best placed in a home where there are no small children.

Oliver isn’t very diplomatic when it comes to the other cats in his home. As a smaller kitten, he almost starved to death, so it is perfectly understandable that he is very possessive of his food and bowl and does not want the other cats to go near it. He lets them know through his developing cat wrestling moves, much to their dislike.

He is also still a kitten, learning the rules of feline etiquette. The other cats are definitely not happy when he pounces on them out of the blue for a wrestling match, particularly when they are sleeping or chilling out in a sunny spot.

For these reasons, Oliver is best suited for a home where he can be the only cat , at least until his behavior improves. Eventually, he would likely be happy to welcome a kitten to his new home, but for now, he needs an owner with the patience and willingness to learn about cat behavior and help him become the best version of Garfield that he can be.

This little guy has been through so much and it is a miracle that he is still alive. Please help make it up to him and offer him a loving forever home where he will be cherished unconditionally and lovingly cared for the rest of his life.  Adopt Oliver the Orange Tabby kitten in San Diego, California today!

He loves his little ball that has a bell in it, he loves playing with toy mice, he watches hummingbirds in our windows everyday and loves it, he loves the laser pointer, he loves pretty any and all food, he loves any toys that have feathers attached.

Cute Oliver Story:

When we first met him it was shortly after him being rescued from some really bad conditions. He almost didn’t survive. The first time we saw him he was barely able to open his eyes yet. He just sat with us on the couch purring in his favorite blanket because all he could do was rest and try and recover.

Why is Oliver Being Rehomed?

Oliver is not well suited at this time to be living with two older cats. He is making them very stressed and it is not fair to them. Oliver needs an understanding owner who will give him lots of attention and work towards modifying his behaviors, many of which are a result of not being socialized properly and having been neglected and abused as a small kitten.

Oliver’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

As detailed above, Oliver needs to be an only pet for the time being, until he can receive behavior modification through patient, positive and persistent efforts from a cat lover willing to love him unconditionally and put in the efforts needed.

Ideally, someone who lives alone or a couple without children. He is really a sweet little guy that had a very tough beginning. He is very much worth the effort and will become the most awesome cat friend with patience and time.

His owners love Oliver and want the best for him. It is not fair to their other cats that they have to live with Ollie’s rather brutish behavior, so they really do not have a choice other than to try and find him the right home where he will thrive.
