Arno’s Personality
Arno is a social butterfly! He loves people (especially kids) and loves other dogs even more. I’ve had him since he was 9 weeks old and he is now 15 months old. He’s a super mutt with the looks of a Shepard and personality of a Lab.
His favorite places in the world are doggy day care (he goes to Dog Days in San Diego) and the large, local dog park where he has room to run and say hi to all the dogs! When at home, he likes his evening walks/runs and will do anything for food.
His favorite snacks include carrots, peanut butter, and chicken. He is crate-trained and knows the basic commands -name, come, sit, stay, off, touch, turn, and shake.
When he’s relaxing at home, he loves laying in his own comfy bed next to the couch or on the cozy ottoman next to me. Arno would do really well in a house with a family and a yard where there’s lots going on throughout the day.
In an ideal scenario he would love to have another dog friend in the house to play with.
Arno’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
He loves licking peanut butter and getting other treats out of his Kong. He would rather play tug or war with a rope or other well-loved toy than play fetch with a ball.
He enjoys running with me in the evenings after work, but his favorite way to exercise is at the local dog park where he runs and plays with all the other dogs!
He’s got lots of energy at the dog park but at home he’s happy to lay in his dog bed and stare out the front door which I often leave open.
When I take him to coffee shops or breweries I like to have treats on hand for all the praise he receives in public for being a good boy. His favorite toy will always be a cardboard box!
Whenever I get a package from Amazon, I give him the box after I open the package so he can tear it up and play with it.
Cute Arno Story:
Arno absolutely adores little kids, and for an energetic dog like him he’s incredibly gentle and sweet with them.
One day after an adventure at the dog park we went to the local car wash where a 5 year old girl fell in love with him. He planted her face with kisses as she squealed with laughter and laid down for her to give him plenty of pets.
It made me so happy to hear such praise from her dad at how great he was with his daughter.
Why is Arno Being Rehomed?
Arno does super well in my apartment and is not a barker nor chewer. I couldn’t ask for a better dog. That said, he deserves a home with a yard and a family who can be around a lot more often than I am able to commit to long-term.
Arno’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Arno would thrive with a family! He would do well with the space of a house and yard to run around in. Ideally, there would be another dog friend in the house for him to play with.
