Finn, a German Shepherd Siberian Husky mix dog for adoption in Edmonton. Finn is sitting on the carpet looking at the camera.

Looking for a Siberian Husky German Shepherd mix (Gerberian Shepsky) dog for adoption in Edmonton (Devon), Alberta? Finn would love to be considered for the position of your cherished family companion.

Meet Finn: Your Future Fluffy Therapist, Part-Time Comedian, Full-Time Best Friend

Imagine this: you’re sitting on the couch, feeling a little low. Maybe your day didn’t go as planned, maybe you’re just missing something you can’t quite name. Suddenly, there’s a soft whump beside you.

It’s Finn. He flops his 44-pound, Siberian Husky–German Shepherd self practically on top of you like a furry emotional support blanket. He doesn’t ask what’s wrong. He just knows. He leans in, sighs deeply, and gives you a kiss that’s half dog breath, half pure love. Whatever was weighing you down? Just got 44 pounds lighter.

Finn isn’t just a dog. He’s the friend who brings the sunshine when your sky’s a bit too grey.

At 4½ years old, Finn has already mastered the fine art of being an incredible companion. He adores kids (especially their sticky hands and energy), and at the dog park, he transforms into a joyful, zoomie-powered blur of happiness.

Throw him a ball and watch him chase it with gusto… just don’t expect him to bring it back. Retrieval is very optional. He prefers to keep things spontaneous.

Finn is also a bit of a goofball when it comes to food. He doesn’t inhale his meals like some dogs—he savors them in his own peculiar, performance-art way. Picture this: he walks up to his bowl with the confidence of a gourmet, nods thoughtfully at the kibble, then picks up one piece, carries it across the room, drops it dramatically, and walks away like he just made a statement. Later? He might graze. Or just admire the arrangement. Who knows? Finn is a mystery wrapped in fur and floof.

So why is a pup this perfect looking for a new home? Simply put: love and life collided. Finn’s human is facing a major move into a condo that doesn’t allow pets. Even if it did, working 10-hour days means Finn would spend more time alone than he deserves. And if there’s one thing this good boy craves (besides bones and the occasional philosophical moment with his food bowl), it’s people. He’s a social soul with a heart that thrives on connection.

Finn comes with no major health or behavior issues. He’s house-trained, vaccinated, and neutered. He doesn’t get along with cats, but he’s great with dogs and humans of all sizes. He’s looking for a home where he won’t be alone for long stretches—a family with time, affection, and a few spare corners on the couch would be ideal. Bonus points if you have a yard, a dog park nearby, or a willingness to offer unlimited belly rubs.

His current human hopes for occasional updates or photos, just to know he’s doing okay. (A few Finn selfies wouldn’t hurt, either.)

So, if you’re looking for a loyal companion with a comedian’s timing, a therapist’s intuition, and the soul of a best friend—you just might be looking for Finn.

Finn’s Personality

Finn is a happy friendly dog who’s happy to see new people. He’s always interested to see what people are doing and to join in if he can. He loves to play, loves to chase a ball, but doesn’t always bring it back.

Finn’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Then likes to chase a ball, but that doesn’t mean he’ll bring it back. He loves to go to the dog park and go for walks. He likes to chew on bones but does not get people food. Currently he is eating First Mates Lamb Meal

Cute Finn Story:

Finn does not gobble down his food. He is a grazer. But to watch him eat is pretty funny. When he enters the room where his food is he’ll walk right to the food, and then kind of jerk his head forward and back over the food and then not eat. Or he will pick up one little morsel and drop it about 2 feet away from his food and will leave it there for a day.

Why is Finn Being Rehomed?

I am having to move into a condo where they don’t allow pets. But even if I found one that did allow pets, I live alone now and I work close to 10 hours a day and it is not fair for him to be alone all day. He likes being around people too much. I feel that it’s unfair for him.

Finn’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Ideally it would be a home where Finn would not be left alone for hours upon hours every day. He would be happy in a home that has one person or a home that has many people as long as he got the proper attention that he needs. This meaning going for walks, being let outside and going to the dog park and home for many cuddles.

I would love to keep in contact with Finn and the new the new family. I understand if they don’t want to but an occasional message or picture would sure be welcome
