I am a very sweet and pretty Black Lab mix with a heart of pure gold. I may be 9 years old, but I am very healthy and have lots of years of love left to offer my forever family. I am spayed, up to date on shots and perfectly house trained. I have been obedience trained, and am a polite, devoted, loving and compassionate family companion. I weigh around 60 pounds, and have a smooth, shiny black coat, and the brightest smile!

My owners are devastated to have to find me a new home. Unfortunately, the older dog in my home has some health problems which have made him rather cranky. He has become aggressive towards me, and in order to keep me safe, I really need to be placed in a new home.

My ideal home would be with a loving family, couple or single with lots of time to spend with me. I get along great with other dogs, and I LOVE children. I have never been around cats, but I would most likely be just fine with them, as long as they like me.

One thing I am really, really good at is making everyone in my family feel special. I love to follow you around, cuddle up with you, hang on your every word, and give you my unwavering love and support. I am a great “welcome home committee” – whether you have been gone all day – or for just 5 minutes, you can count on receiving the warmest, most exuberant welcome every time.

So please, if you have room in your heart and home for unconditional love in the form of a 60 pound shiny black Lab mix, offer me my forever home today. I can’t wait to dazzle you with my smile and wiggle my way into your heart.

Love and licks,

Zoe

Zoe’s Personality

Her sweet attentiveness. Her good manners and training. Her soft, shiny coat. Her activity level. Her excitement when I get home!

Zoe’s Current Home Environment

Single professional with two dogs. As such, its quiet, but for when friends visit. Zoe visits with family that have kids and other dogs, and she is great with both.

Zoe’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Zoe loves her walks, but really just likes being with her people. She is not particularly toy oriented, but she is very food oriented. Give her a cookie and she is happy as a lark. She likes her bed, and isn’t insistent about being on the furniture or in your lap. She loves being petted, and scratched under the chin.

Cute Zoe Story:

Zoe greets me at the door, and while present, is not under my feet. I bring the groceries to the kitchen and start unloading them into the fridge and into the cupboards, while Zoe lays down on the kitchen floor and watches me. I had also grabbed some pre-made grocery store tacos for dinner. As I am unwrapping the first of three of them, I lose my grip and drop it on the floor RIGHT IN FRONT OF ZOE. She is super food motivated, but she is also a smart little lab. She doesn’t move. She just simply looks at the taco, then looks up at me as if to ask: “is this for me?” Very, very cute little face that is clearly hopeful that she gets an unexpected treat. I chirp to her “OK!”, and she digs in with gusto. Very cute. Very sweet.

Why is Zoe Being Rehomed?

The older dog, Hutch, is in bad health which makes him nervous and anxious. As such, Zoe can not be in the same room with him as he will become aggressive. Since Hutch is not in good health, we’ve regrettably decided to re-home Zoe as the best alternative to both dogs being happier and healthier.

Zoe’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A loving and caring dog person or dog family. Ideally they would have time to spend with her during the day, or have a doggy door so she has some freedome of movement if not.

Zoe is a member of our family, but for her good and the benefit of her “brother”, we need to rehome her.
