From the moment Scooby enters a room (usually with a stuffed toy in his mouth and an enthusiastic tail-thump that could double as a drumbeat), it’s clear: this dog doesn’t just love his people—he worships them. He follows his favorite humans with the kind of dedication normally reserved for rom-com montages and loyal sidekicks. Your couch? His kingdom. Your bed? His cuddle stage. Your heart? Already claimed.
Scooby is five years old and 40 pounds of fluff, floof, and feelings. He’s the kind of dog who makes you feel like the sun comes up just because you opened your eyes. He’ll greet you every morning with a sleepy scoot up the bed, nuzzling your cheek like he’s personally missed you through the night (even if you were snoring into his fur).
And oh, his quirks. Let’s talk about The Great Plushie Massacre of… well, every single day. Stuffed toys don’t stand a chance. He’ll proudly parade the fluffless carcass of a former teddy bear across the living room like a hunter bringing home the day’s catch—tongue lolling, eyes sparkling, his chest puffed out with the pride of a job well done. It’s the only thing he’s destructive with. Furniture? Sacred. Humans? Worshipped. Squeaky monkey with a bow tie? RIP.
He’s great with kids. Protective in a gentle, “I’ll stand in front of you if a squirrel looks at you funny” kind of way. And he lives for games of fetch, walks through the neighborhood, or peanut butter anything. (Seriously. Peanut butter is his love language.)
Now, Scooby’s heart is big—but also a little anxious. He’s on medication to help manage his separation anxiety, and he does best when someone is home most of the time. A steady, patient home—maybe with a work-from-home human, or a chill retired couple—is exactly what he needs. He’s crate-trained and house-trained, but emotionally, he just wants to know you’re nearby. He doesn’t bark unnecessarily or chew what he shouldn’t. He just… worries a little when you’re gone. (Don’t we all, Scooby. Don’t we all.)
So why is a heart as beautiful as Scooby’s being rehomed?
Through no fault of his own, Scooby’s world changed. A divorce, new housing that doesn’t allow pets, and family allergies have all made this decision heartbreakingly necessary. He is deeply loved, and his person is doing everything possible to ensure he lands in a home where that love only grows.
Are you his person?
Do you believe couches are better with dog hair? That morning snuggles beat alarm clocks? That a little dog with a big heart and a mild stuffed-animal grudge could be your soulmate?
Scooby is waiting—tail twitching, eyes hopeful, ready to meet the one who will make this next chapter the happiest yet.
Apply to adopt him today, and let the love story begin.

Scooby’s Personality
Scooby is a happy, affectionate pup with a heart full of love! He is a playful dog that absolutely adores being around people and will brighten your day with tail wags, cuddles and goofy fun. Whether it’s playing fetch, going on walks or just lounging nearby, he is the happiest when you’re close by.
Scooby is incredibly loyal and forms strong bonds with his humans, due to this deep connection, he does struggle with separation anxiety and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day.
This loving soul needs a patient, understanding adopter who can continue to work with him on feeling safe when alone and provide the comfort of a stable, nurturing environment. Scooby has so much love to give and just needs the right person to help him feel secure.
Scooby’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
frisbee, balls, stuffed toys(he likes to destroy stuffed toys and is so proud of his work when he’s done. It’s the only thing that he rips apart), he loves peanut butter, mighty wolf treats and dental bones, going for walks and playing fetch.
Cute Scooby Story:
Scooby gets so excited for new toys or treats to the point where he starts doing spins or rolling over tricks before he is even asked to do anything. When he was able to sleep on the bed he loves to snuggle up by your legs and scoot up towards your face as you wake up to say good morning.
Why is Scooby Being Rehomed?
Due to a recent divorce, allergies in the household, and a change in living situation that no longer allows pets, I’m heartbroken to rehome Scooby. This decision has not been made lightly, and I’m committed to finding him a safe, loving home where he can thrive.
Scooby’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Scooby would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. He bonds deeply with his people and experiences separation anxiety, so a household with a stay-at-home parent, someone who works remotely, or a retired individual or couple would be ideal.
He needs a calm, stable environment where he feels safe and secure.
Scooby loves to play and be active, so a family who enjoys walks, yard time, or play sessions would be a great match. He’d do best with people who are patient, understanding, and willing to continue working with him on his anxiety in a gentle, supportive way.
A home ideally with space for him to move around would make him the happiest. Whether it’s a quiet home or one with kids, Scooby just wants to be loved and included as part of the family.

Scooby Adoption FAQ
Who is Scooby?
Scooby is a 5-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd Blue Heeler mix dog located in Airdrie, Alberta. He weighs around 40 lbs, is neutered, fully house-trained, crate-trained, up-to-date on vaccinations, and very much loved.
What is Scooby’s personality like?
Scooby is an affectionate, loyal, playful dog with a deeply loving heart. He’s fantastic with children, enjoys cuddles on the couch, and loves to stay close to his people. He’s happiest when he’s part of the action—whether that means playing fetch, going for a walk, or simply lounging by your feet.
Is Scooby well-trained?
Yes! Scooby is both house-trained and crate-trained. He knows how to behave indoors and thrives on routine and clear expectations. He’s also eager to please, which makes him a joy to live with.
Does Scooby have any health issues?
Scooby is in good physical health but does experience anxiety, including separation anxiety. He currently takes Trazodone, a gentle medication prescribed by his vet to help him stay calm when alone. His condition is well-managed, but he will need a calm, understanding home with someone around most of the day.
Why is Scooby being rehomed?
This decision comes from a place of deep love and heartbreak. Due to a recent divorce, allergies in the household, and a housing situation that no longer allows dogs, Scooby’s owner is making the incredibly difficult choice to find him a home where he can continue to thrive. He is not being rehomed because of any fault or behavioral issues.
What are Scooby’s favorite activities?
He loves playing fetch (especially with frisbees and balls), going for walks, destroying stuffed toys (his one guilty pleasure), cuddling, and showing off his tricks when new treats arrive.
What are Scooby’s favorite foods and treats?
Peanut butter, Mighty Wolf treats, dental bones, and anything that tastes like love. He’s a joyful eater.
Is Scooby good with children?
Absolutely. Scooby is wonderful with kids—gentle, affectionate, and protective. He loves to be part of the family fun.
Is Scooby good with other pets?
He gets along well with other dogs. His behavior around cats is unknown, so slow, supervised introductions would be important if there are cats in the home.
What kind of home is best for Scooby?
Scooby would thrive in a calm, stable home where someone is home most of the time—ideally a work-from-home adult, stay-at-home parent, or retired couple. He would love a yard, regular playtime, and plenty of snuggles. Patience and kindness are key to helping him feel safe and secure.
What comes with Scooby?
He’ll arrive with his crate, kennel bed, food and water dishes, leashes, toys, food, treats, anxiety medication, lifejacket, and up to three dog beds. You can choose what you’d like to take to make him feel at home.
Will I need to continue his anxiety medication?
That’s up to you and your vet. The Trazodone helps him stay calm, especially during transitions. With love, stability, and consistency, he may improve further, but we recommend continuing for now and reassessing with professional guidance.
