Sophie the Bichon Frise’s Adoption Story

Have you been looking for Bichon Frise dog for adoption in San Francisco ? Please consider offering a loving home to Sophie

Meet Sophie, Bichon Frise Dog For Adoption in San Francisco CA

Sophie is a Female Bichon Frise Dog for adoption to a very loving home in or near San Francisco , CA. This very special Dog is 3 years old and weighs 6 pounds.

Sophie is being placed for adoption by owner for the following reason:
Sophie is a sensitive dog. She can not eat people food or have to much variety in dog food or she will become very sick. She stresses around small children trying to manipulate her like a toy. She is not a fan of other dogs and is terrified of big dogs. Our home life changed and Sophie has been stressed by certain people and has been made quite sick with someone feeding her people food. She was also bullied to the point of cowering and peeing by this other dog. And it steals her food because she is a grazer. I have now gone back to work and have found that I literally can’t keep her comfortable and safe. I am unable to change my situation but my dysfunction does not have to be hers. She does not deserve this at all.

Sophie’s Current Home Environment

Before Covid Sophie was the only dog in a house where I rent a room. She would ring a bell to be let out in the backyard to go potty or lay in the sun. She freely roamed the entire house in the day and slept with me at night but she is crate trained and finds the crate comforting to go take a nap in. She had freedom to graze on her food

Sophie’s Current Family:

I rent a room in a house which was mostly quiet and calm I have a boyfriend sometimes my adult daughter stays over Sophie loves them both. Things changed and there are more people around and a big dog 🙁

Sophie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Sophie loves the BALL! she loves tug- a- war we chase each other and a little
ruff housin’. She likes walks around the block. (Not the dog park)
Snap your finger she will jump up on a couch or a bench so you can put her harness and leash on. If your going out the door she just assumes she will be going for a car ride.
Sophie eats Hills Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and skin for toy breeds.

Cute Sophie Story:

Sophie loves to play fetch. You throw the ball and she gets it. But you cant have it back
Nope! She is just going to prance back and forth on her tiny little legs so proud of herself. The ball is not such as big deal to her if you don’t watch and encourage her. I always say “who’s that girl? is that Sophie? Look at Sophie with her ball! What a girl! She’s so fancy!” And she just wags her butt back and forth with pure joy.

Why is Sophie Being Rehomed?

Sophie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A home where its expected that she will be underfoot. That she wants to be carried gently and cuddled softly all the time just like a baby. That she needs your attention for her play time. That she is a long hair dog and grooming is so important. That she barks when you leave and when you come back or at a knock at the door. Where people understand her food sensitivity’s. And she can graze on her kibble. No really young kids or animals that won’t respect her space. That she alerts her need to go out by dinging a bell. She can be left alone but please not for long. Remember she has no world unless your in it.

Additional Comments:

I love Sophie she is perfect in everyway. I need to mention that she howls like she is dying when you leave her alone for the first 3-5 minutes and then simmers down and then randomly barks at noises until you come back I see this being a potential issue in an apartment. I never had testing done but she would greatly benefit from some food allergy testing at the Vets office before introducing new foods. She does beautifully on her food but she can get very sick very fast even with dog treats.
