Meet Rosie – Pre-Loved American Staffordshire Terrier Yellow Labrador Retriever mix dog For Adoption by Owner in Atlanta Ga

Rosie is a Female American Staffordshire Terrier Yellow Labrador Retriever mix dog for adoption to a very loving home in or near Atlanta, Georgia. This very special dog is 3.5 years years old and weighs 50 pounds.

Rosie is an amazing companion. She is very devoted and affectionate, and is a joy to spend time with. Rosie has undergone Obedience training and knows many commands, including the standard sit, stay, lay down, come, etc. She is in excellent health and has been fixed, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, house-broken and crate trained.

Rosie loves her people with all her heart. She is as good as gold with the baby in the family, but has displayed some anxiety around small children. With another baby on the way and a toddler, his owners are concerned that things will soon become overwhelming for Rosie. They want what is best for her, and feel that she would be content in an adults-only home or one with teens 16 years old and up.

Rosie also has some anxiety around larger dogs. For this reason, she should be placed in a home without other dogs, or with a small breed dog with an easy-going personality.

Rosie is looking for a home with a large, securely fenced yard and owners who have plenty of time to spend with her. She is a great runner’s companion, so would love to join an active family.

Age of Pet: 3.5 years
Spayed/Neutered?: Yes
Health Problems: No
Behavior Issues: Yes Rosie seems to be very wary of children. She does excellent with my 18 month old son but growls at children she does not know. She became accustomed to my wife’s niece after about 1 week but we think she would be best with a house without small kids. She gets along with small dogs very well. Dogs her size is hit or miss. You have to use your judgement but I don’t take her to dog parks. She had one incident when she got into a scuffle with another dog while both of them were on leashes. The other owner stuck his hand in the middle and his hand was bit. It’s unclear which dog bit him but we think it was Rosie.

She is a super sweet dog and has never bitten or attacked a human or another dog other than this incident. She does very well with a muzzle on walks and has completed an intense train and board called Off Leash K9 training. Sits, lays down, heals on command. Does not pull on the leash on walks

Rosie’s Personality

Very sweet girl who loves to hang out with her loved ones. Likes to runaround and be active, very playful but then will chill the rest of the day if she gets her exercise. Food motivated. You can teach her to do tricks to get treats. Very smart. Loyal. Will Iick your face forever. Loves to be pet

Rosie is an Amazing Companion Because She is:

Super smart. Can be trained very well and has a trainer her already knows her and works with her. Boards her for a fee as well if needed

Great running partner

Makes you feel safe at home

Super sweet and lovable

She’s beautiful:)

Does not chew on furniture

Rosie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Chewing on raw hide
Going for runs with me
Chasing squirrels
She’ll do anything for treats
Plays with tennis balls and such

Cute Rosie Story:

Watching her be with my newborn son, now 18 months old, has been so touching. She lets him pat his head and squeeze her tail. My son has gotten into the habit of throwing her food and Rosie now sits at his chair, very obediently waiting. I also am so proud when I run and walk with Rosie. She stays by my side and mostly doesn’t pull. She is so well behaved it makes me proud.

Why is Rosie Being Rehomed?

We are expecting a 2nd child in October and feel she will need more attention and care than we can give her. We want the kids to be able to run around the house without worrying about an accident with Rosie. We know she would never harm them on purpose but we don’t want to put Rosie in a situation where something happens on accident

Rosie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Looking for a home without children. I think older teens (16 and up) should be fine. A backyard. Someone who is committed to spending time with her. I wonder if an older couple with a backyard would enjoy Rosie as a companion but she is strong and could be tough to walk with. Rosie really just likes to hang out and run around in the backyard at times.
