Finn’s Personality

Finn just turned 4 years old in April 2021. He is a Texas Heeler (mix between an Australian Cattle Dog and Border Collie), so he is very energetic and could run outside for hours chasing after a ball. He is 40 lbs but loves his humans and is basically a big lap dog.

He has had training and knows some commands, like “place”, “crate”, and “sit”. He is also incredibly smart and has learned many words and patterns of behaviors, such as when we say bedtime he will run right into his crate.

He seems to do well around other dogs that are young and love to play, but he may overwhelm older dogs with his energy. We do have a cat and while Finn is interested in playing with our cat, the feeling is not mutual likely because of his energy.

Finn loves belly rubs and snuggling with his humans. He is very protective and will bark when people come to the door or get near the fence.

As I mentioned above, he does seem to have issues with children, so the ideal home would be somewhere we he can run, potentially play with other young and energetic dogs, and be around adults only.

Why is Finn Being Rehomed?

We need to re-home Finn because he has been acting out since I became pregnant. His anxiety has increased, which has caused him to become very protective, and he has had a few biting incidents.

While he has never really been around children, he does seem more anxious around them and will growl / show his teeth / snap. So the best home for him would be in a location where he can run to get his energy out that does not include children.
