Sonia is a gorgeous Black, Green, White, Yellow and Orange colored Caique bird for adoption in Edmonton ALBERTA. Such a pretty bird! Sonia is a sweet little bird who loves to fly and, once she gets to know you, an enchanting little acrobat who loves to sing, follow you around, and play in your hair.
Sonia is looking for an owner who is familiar with the Caique breed and will be able to give Sonia the live she deserves. She will be rehomed with a large cage and other accessories.

All About Sonia
Sonia’s Personality
She loves to play in people’s hair, she whistles and repeats human words such as “pretty bird” and gives kisses. She loves to be an acrobat and happily hops around when outside of her cage. She is friendly to other people but fairly shy when meeting new people. She loves to snuggle when she’s feeling sleepy, otherwise she’d rather be exploring.
She loves to fly, she randomly takes off and goes wherever she wants and then peeps for you to come get her and bring her back. She loves chewing playfully or nuzzling on your hand out of affection.
I love that she LOVES everyone. I love that she is so SWEET and affectionate. I love the sounds she makes. I love how funny and active she is. I love that she loves to eat!
Sonia’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
She loves all things that aren’t a toy basically; my phone, computer, shower curtain, my shirt and jewelry. She loves grapes and walnuts but prefers to eat anything on your plate.
Cute Sonia Story:
One time when she first started flying, she flew up into a tree, and then didn’t know how to fly back down. So I had to climb up to get her. She ended up hopping over onto the roof and was just looking down at me peeping like “HELP ME I AM STUCK UP HERE MAMA”. She’s very funny.
Why is Sonia Being Rehomed?
I purchased her 2 years ago from a breeder and have been blessed to care for her. I used to be able to bring her to work with me and give her lots of attention but unfortunately due to many reasons now, I am sadly not able to give her as much attention and commitment that she requires to really do well and so I am looking for a home that can give her that.
Sonia’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Her new home; must have knowledge on Caiques, and having experience with Caiques is an asset. I would prefer to give her to a family without intentions to clip her wings them as I would like for her to be able to fly and to be harness trained instead.
She is fairly low maintenance but would thrive with attention to her diet, so I would like to rehome her to someone who can offer her that, (parrots receive optimal nutrition when provided fresh fruits/veggies/nuts &seeds in addition to their parrot pellets) and from the intellectual stimulation of being trained to do tricks.
Caiques can play fetch/ twirls/play dead/ raise their wings/ etc. Therefore experience with training parrots (or specifically caiques) is an asset. She would be very happy with another caique, she was for a few months while I was away travelling. I think as the biggest problem for her right now; not having anyone to play with for most of the day.
