Looking for a bonded pair Shih Tzu Dogs to adopt in Edmonton, Alberta? Buddy 14, and Chaos 9 are an adorable pair of seniors that were suddenly without a home when their owner passed away suddenly last week from heart failure.

The dogs have not been given adequate care over the last several months while their owner suffered with the debilitating effects of heart disease. As a result, the currently look like “Schmoos”, and are in desperate need of a bath and a trim.
They will need help re-establishing their once-perfect potty habits (they are winter pee-pad trained) by an attentive dog lover who will be patient and use positive training methods.
The dogs need a trip to the vet to assess their health status. Currently, these poor babies are grieving the loss of their owner, with whom they shared a very special bond.

Because the dogs are also mourning the loss of my dad, they are currently not eating and are going to the bathroom inside the house, however they are trained to go outside.

Pedigree is what they have been fed recently. They also love denta sticks and milkbones for treats. They are free fed and always had access to their food.
Chaos needs to be fed his treats in smaller pieces or he will throw up as he tends to swallow them while from excitement.

Buddy and Chaos’s Personality
Buddy: In his older age he’s very slow but very loving. He loves to cuddle and get treats. He loves scratches underneath his collar and on his chest. He loves to give kisses on your nose. He’s very stubborn sometimes and takes his time with everything. He also does not like big dogs but could care less about any other animal. He also doesn’t do stairs anymore due to his old age.
Chaos: He loves to play with all his toys and will want you to encourage him to play by asking him “Where’s your toy”. He also loves being near his brother Buddy and cuddling with him. He also loves treats, but be careful to break up his treats into smaller pieces because he tends to eat too fast and then throw up later. Chaos loves all animals and wants to be friends with everyone. He also loves to bark while he plays. He’s also scared of thunderstorms and gets spooked easily in general.
Note: Buddy is fixed, Chaos is not. Buddy is more housebroken than Chaos, as Chaos kinda does his own thing some of the time.
Why is Buddy and Chaos Being Rehomed?
My dad passed away and we don’t have anywhere for them to go.
These dogs are bonded and need to be in a home together. Chaos has known Buddy all his life and it’s all he knows. They are also extremely heartbroken over the loss of my dad.
Towards the end of my dad’s life they weren’t that well taken care of unfortunately. They went too long between grooming sessions and were allowed to go to the bathroom inside the house.
They are also trained on puppy pads to use inside the house.
This is extremely hard to give them up as my dad had them since they were both young pups. They have been a staple of the family and very loved.
