This healthy older dog is 11 years old and weighs 20-25 lbs. Sophie is what we consider to be a "ready to love dog" - she has been spayed, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, crate trained, leash trained and house trained. Sophie is good with children and adults, other dogs and dog-friendly cats.
Sophie's owner is devastated at having to rehome her dog, but there is no other feasible choice. Sophie has always had other dogs around her when her humans aren't home. Things have really changed in her home in the past couple of years; her Mom is divorced, her dog friend passed away, and Sophie got used to having her Mom home with her 24/7 when the pandemic hit. Now Mom has to go back to work involving a lot of travel, and Sophie isn't able to handle being home alone. She, like many older dogs, has developed separation anxiety, and is absolutely miserable when left home by herself. She cries and paces the entire time.
