Meet Harvey – 1 Year Old Female Purebred German Shepherd Dallas Texas TX
Harvey is a stunning black and tan German Shepherd dog for adoption near Dallas Texas, in Plano. She is just 1 year old, very healthy, spayed, vaccinated and house trained. She is a very sweet girl, and is used to being around older children. She is good with other dogs and has undergone obedience training.
Harvey was abandoned by her owner after being placed with friends on a temporary basis. Her foster family love her very much, and want to find her the very best home, where she will be cherished and given the attention, care, exercise and playtime that she needs and very much deserves.
Harvey is a little shy when she first meets you, but is an very devoted companion once she gets to know you, which does not take long. She is so smart, and has such a loving personality. Harvey likes her exercise, and really needs to be in a home with people who are active and can take her for walks/runs/dog park visits. She will need to be placed in a home with people who own their home and have a large, securely fenced yard. She would love to have another dog to play with, and really needs people who do not work long hours.

Personality
Harvey is a sweet dog. Shy at first! She is smart and learns so quickly. The vet has said that she is impressed with how well she does because most GSDs ate anxious and difficult to examine! Same report card from groomers. She is a little stubborn diring training. Example I will want her to go down and I have to reinforce a few times! She is loving and came initially from a home that had adolescent children. She is very energetic and LOVES fetch!!

Purina proplan. It is grain free and gives her no problems such as diarrhea she was getting from food that had grains
Reason For Rehoming
am fostering a 1 year old german shepherd. Previous owner asked if I could briefly take over her care because one of her other female gsd and mine were constantly fighting. I agreed because she said she would take the dog to a shelter and I felt bad about that.
Forward 6 months and she never found any sort of replacement home. Basically she tells me that if I give the dog back she will have to bring her to a shelter. So my question is: Is there any way to work on finding a new home while I keep fostering her from my home? She is 1.. will be 2 in October.
My husband and I have been working hard the last 6 mos to train her. She has been through board and train school and obedience school. She is housebroken! Super smart and very active! The active part is part of the problem for us though. We both work Mon-Fri 8-9 hr days and she is crated most of those days. We are not open to not crating her while we are gone.
We try our best to be active but a lot of times are not able to truly provide her with the exercise mind and physical that she deserves. We would love to find her a furever home with a family that has kids. Her previous home had 2 young girls who she played with and loved. The situation is very sad. I have no intention of bringing her to a shelter!!
I have tried hard to ask friends/family, friends of family, but no one can take her bc they either already have dogs or just don’t have desire for a dog at this time. I will send a picture. If you have any thoughts or ideas about how to rehome please let me know. Thank you for your time.
