They stopped getting long once Lola matured more, and it has continued to escalate to the point that we have them separated at all times. But we don’t have many friends with dogs, and we don’t take them places because they are farm dogs so they have not been socialized a lot. It would likely be better they go to a home that doesn’t currently have other dogs.

And on occasion Lola has resource guarded a bone, but not from us, from Lacy her sister.
I can touch Lola, and be near her and change her collar etc all while she eats her breakfast and dinner and she has never resourced guarded with me.

Lola’s Personality

She is very calm (unless excited to see you if I have been out and come home – they she sometimes tries to give hugs out of excitement)
She loves to snuggle, and get attention. Very gentle with my toddler, very food motivated and loves her snacks and meals. She will play with Lacy, but otherwise quite calm and relaxed. But she takes her job of protecting the homestead very seriously. She would be inside more if we could have her around our other dog, she loves to come in and get pets and snuggles before going back outside.

She does not like to be locked in anywhere. She does NOT do well with this. She can be tied up if she needs to be kept in one spot for a period of time and does fine with this, but locking her in a crate or a garage is not ideal.

We currently use GPS collars with an invisible fence because they will wander during calving season. We dont have livestock but given her breed she wants to protect when the calves come. We just got in the habit of using them daily to keep them close to home. And when they are charging we tie her up.

Lola’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Lola isn’t really into toys, but she loves snacks, even if its just her kibble. She loves meat too.
She loves to patrol the land and make sure its safe, and snuggle time with us when we are outside.

Cute Lola Story:

When Lola was just a puppy she was really floppy on her feet and would often have the zoomies. We were out for a family walk and she got so excited she ran right into my legs knocking me over, because she forgot to move around me.

Why is Lola Being Rehomed?

Lola and Luna (my inside dog) don’t get along. She will attack her at random, and I don’t know what triggers it. Possibly because we also have Lacy and Lola wants to protect her. Its something we have tried to work through but it gets worse each time. And because of demanding work schedules, motherhood and just general life responsibilities its not something I have the time to devote too. I spoke with a trainer and she explained what we would need to do, and I have no been able to fulfill that with my other responsibilities. Along with, I need to keep my son safe, he has been too close at times, and its caused a lot of stress and anxiety in our family.

Lola’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I want them to love her like I love her. We hang stockings for our pets at Christmas time. I want them to love her, cuddle her when she needs it and give her the space to do her job. Reward her for her hard work and be able to spend more time with her than I can. She is fiercely loyal, and I need the family to understand what this means. She views her land as her job to protect, and takes it seriously.
We live on 160 acres and they have access to about 10 acres to roam. So being on an acreage is a must for her. And if there is livestock thats a bonus, she thrives when she can protect a herd of sorts.
Ideally she would also have a space to go when she needs out of the elements like we have here for her. She goes under the deck a lot in the summer and winter. We have a dog house but she isn’t sure about it yet.

I would like to know they are doing well and adjusting.
