Declawed Maine Coon Cat For Private Adoption Gaithersburg Maryland – Adopt Oscar Mayer

Meet Oscar Mayer, Maine Coon Cat For Adoption in Gaithersburg MDMaine coon cat  for rehoming in gaithersburg md

Maine Coon Cats are beautiful long-haired cats with lovable personalities, at least this one – Oscar Mayer  fits that description.  His stunning eyes, lush fur and charming personality will win you over immediately.  He is 10 years old, been declawed since he was young and rescued by a vet.  He was adopted with his brother “Cheddar Bob” as kittens and have been  loved every minute since then.  Sadly Bob became suddenly ill last year with a cancer and died a short time later. Oscar is fine, but he finds himself alone too often as his owner has to travel more for work these days and feels guilty that both she and Bob aren’t there for Oscar.  As a result, Oscar has been showing signs of extra need for attention.  He sleeps on his owner’s pillow or even on her head in order to be close and he meets her at the door any time that she has to go out.  Recently extra family are staying at the house and there is a young dog who Oscar hides from.  He’s also tried to avoid younger children too. (7 years old).
Oscar’s owner is also looking at a possible need to move to a smaller place when the Covid situation is over and wants Oscar to be set up in a nice place with somebody around who can give him the time and attention that he misses.   For now, there are more family in the house, but the dog means that poor Oscar is missing the feeling that he’s the king of the house.
As his owner says:
”   Maine Coons are generally friendly anyway but my kitty brothers  would purr all the time, love just being with you and are curious and talkative too when they are really happy and relaxed. They’d come when you call them and just want to give love and affection.  Oscar has been a little more needy since we lost his brother,  and has taken to sleeping on my pillow or on my head at night to be close to me.”
I don’t mind it but if you have any cat allergies, you may want to make certain that he is OK for you – chances are that he’ll want to snuggle after he gets to know you.
He is an indoor cats and was declawed when neutered at 12 weeks of age. It hasn’t been a problem .

I’d like to find a home where Oscar could be in a more social/family environment with people around more often. He  loves to play and be a part of the family – and they will also disappear at times for a nap/solitude. Right now they are in a single family home with the run of the house where I have a sun room and an 8 foot tall Kitty Condo he can relax on. Maine Coons are also intrigued by and love running water so I have a water bowl fountain that flows constantly to invite him to drink whenever he wants.

Oscar Mayer’s Personalities

Oscar and his brother “Cheddar Bob”  are the sweetest kitties I have ever owned. Sadly Bob passed a way last year due to an unexpected illness. The pair were born very prematurely to a feral cat who was being spayed at my vets office. They had to be hand-fed and taken care of by the technicians on their personal time – fed every 2-hours until they were old enough to be on their own. I adopted them at 7 weeks. Maine Coons are generally friendly anyway but my kitty brothers  would purr all the time, love just being with you and are curious and talkative too when they are really happy and relaxed. They’d come when you call them and just want to give love and affection.  Oscar has been a little more needy since we lost his brother,  and has taken to sleeping on my pillow or on my head at night to be close to me.

Why is Oscar Mayer Being Rehomed?

I got my very sweet Maine Coon brothers on 6/25/2010 when I was married and my two kids lived at home. I separated/divorced 6 years ago and both my kids moved out. I work long hours, travel on weekends and I feel guilty that my kitties aren’t getting stimulation and companionship. Plus, I need to sell my home and look for something smaller and would like them to be in a home with more people around who can really enjoy and love them.
