Max is a handsome Orange Tabby with a wonderful personality. He is a social boy who is watchful of his people and home, and can often be spotted watching the passersby from the window. Playful and goofy, Max will make you smile as he plays on his cat tree and runs on his cat wheel! He is easily excitable and like many orange tabbies, Max gives little nibbles when overstimulated. He loves chilling out next to you and is always happy to cuddle. He can’t wait to steal your heart!

Max’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished cat, but circumstances beyond their control have made rehoming a must-do:

I am moving in less than a month to Florida for a work opportunity. My cat is older and I don’t want to cause him unnecessary stress with another long distance move. I made a long distance move in January 2020 and that trip was extremely stressful for Max. My new apartment that I had to find on short term notice does not allow pets either.

I’m looking for a family that will love & take care of Max to the best of their abilities. Preferably a family with no other pets. He may do okay if the introduction is slow. He is not a fan of children, so a single couple or a family with teenagers is preferred.

My family had an elderly Dachshund that passed away last year but outside of that Max has never interacted with a large dog breed or another cat. I’m not sure how he would react to another animals. He might get territorial.
Another note, he gets overstimulated if you pet him too hard or too long. He has a tendency to nip at you if he is overstimulated. Keep pets light & simple & he loves it.

Max’s Personality

Max is hilarious! He loves to pretend that he’s a tough alpha male, but he’s a marshmallow on this inside. He enjoys play time and engagement but has admittedly slowed down in his old age. He’s pretty chill in this season of life & prefers to relax most of the time.

Cute Max Story:

When my family dog Simba was still alive, Max had a favorite pastime where he would try and play “tag” with Simba. Max would sneak up behind Simba and tap him on the bottom and expect Simba to chase after him. Unfortunately, Simba was scared of his own shadow and would constantly run away and yelp as if he just got attacked by the Boogy-Man.
