ADOPTED Precious Penney – Sweet Dachshund Mix Westminster CO

Hi, My name is Penney!

Dachshund mix for adoption in colorado 2

Do you love food and napping? Me too! I am a very sweet Dachshund / Terrier mix looking for a quiet home where I will be cherished. I am just 10 years young, and have been spayed. I am up to date on my shots. I weigh 19 pounds.

I can be adopted on my own, but why not double the devotion and offer my sister, Babs, a home along with me? We’re good friends and a perfectly matched set!

I am really good at offering quiet devotion to my owners. I may not be the most energetic dog, but I have a way of making my owners feel very special. I am a great companion, particularly if sedentary activities are your thing. I have been known to surprise my owners by chasing the odd squirrel, but mostly I am content to play with my stuffed animals, enjoy cheese snacks, and nap in a quiet, comfortable corner of the room.

I would be the perfect match for senior or disabled dog lovers with mobility issues. I am good with kids, so I would welcome visits from your grandchildren!

My owners are a young couple who recently began growing their family. With a 2 year old toddler, a baby on the way, and my Mom working long hours and travelling for work, it’s just not a very dog-friendly life. I would much prefer a quiet home with folks who have lots of time to spend with me. I’m getting a little older, and being around the noise and commotion of raising small children is not for me.

I have some minor health issues that are well controlled with medication. My owners are willing to help bear the costs of my treatment and provide all veterinary records. I have been lovingly raised and very well cared for.

If you are missing that special kind of devotion that only a sweet dog like me can provide, please offer me a loving home today. I can’t wait to meet you and charm my way into your heart and home.

Love and licks,

Penney

Penny’s Personality

Penny is a no nonsense dog. She’ll be happy in most situations given that food is involved. Sleeps frequently, hard to get up. Loves a good chase in the backyard!

Penny’s Current Home Environment

Our small house is busy during the day with kid’s activities, chores, and trips. Never a dull moment.

Penny’s Current Family:

We’re a family of three, soon to be four. My wife works the 9-5 and travels often. I stay at home to care for the kid, watch the dogs, and work.

Penny’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Penny loves stuffed animals, cheese, and sleeping.

Cute Penny Story:

During a long roadtrip Penny slept soundly for hours upon hours perched atop our duffel bags. Stacked in the backseat Penny had a birds eye view the whole trip even if all she saw was the back of her eyelids.

Why is Penny Being Rehomed?

1. With our family growing we’ll have less time to devote to Penny.
2. Boarding / Pet Sitting is becoming too expensive.
3. Our new home won’t be dog friendly.
4. We want to travel more and spend less time at home.
5. I can’t provide a fruitful and fun home life for Penny.

Penny’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Someone who will give Penny the affection she needs. Along with all the food she can eat!

Additional Comments:

Penny is a very loving dog who needs a cozy lap to rest upon or in the least a comfy bed. She isn’t a sporting dog, but can chase a squirrel when required.
