Hi, My name is Pilot!
I am a “Pilot” who needs a special co-pilot. I am a happy healthy 7 year old Lab/Pit mix, in Denver Colorado who needs a home with a very special person to be my partner.
I am a beautiful mix of Labrador Retriever and American Pit Bull Terrier, with a sleek black short coat and cute white markings. I have adorable floppy ears, and the most expressive face. I am really good at making my owners smile.
I am cuddly and very playful. A really sweet, devoted dog. I have been neutered, fully vaccinated, leash trained and house broken. I am very healthy at just 7 years young.
Like lots of dogs, I have some anxieties. I get really scared by loud noises like thunder and fireworks. I have even been known to hide under the bed! The other thing that really scares me is toddlers! Yup little kids.
Children are so unpredictable! They run and scream and pull dogs’ tails and poke eyes. Not only that, they want to steal all the attention, and that just doesn’t sit right with me. I am one of those dogs that really wants to be an “only child”. No kids or other dogs – just me and my favorite human (or pair of humans!). I don’t mind cats, as long as they don’t mind me!
I need an owner that can be the alpha dog so that I can feel calm and happy – and just be a dog. I could really use some training, and someone who can be firm and consistent, to help me build my confidence and become the best dog I can be.
I need to have an owner that I can trust to take the lead and be the “alpha” around me, but also offer me lots of playtime, exercise and attention. In a team situation like that, I will be a great partner. Personality
Pilot is a goofy guy with a big heart. He loves to cuddle and play tug-a-war. Pilot also loves to get lots of attention because he has some anxiety. He is scared of thunder, fireworks, and pretty much any loud noise.
He hides under our bed and does just fine. He need a place he can feel safe and under the bed works great. He definitely has a goofy and fun personality once he gets used to people. He also thinks he is a lap dog… a 40 pound lap dog! For the right person he would be a great pet and best friend.
Reason For Rehoming
Pilot is an alpha dog and needs to be placed in a home without other dogs or children. He needs to find owners who are experienced and willing to provide him with more training. He is a great dog, and will do really well in the right environment and with the right owners.
