Scottish fold adoption markham onMandu’s Personality

Docile, easily frightened but very curious. He hears strange sound, initially scared but can’t fight the curiosity and has to smell everything once he feels more comfortable. Loves to be around people and get all the attention. He doesn’t like to be held but like to be patted and gently rubbed.

Mandu’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Mandu loves toys that have soft feathers. He likes to lick and tries to eat them a bit. We would use little stick toys with feather in the end. Strangely enough, he would know if you got a cheap feather toy from dollarstore though..

He also loves those small metal ties that we use to close up bag of bread. His stamina won’t last too long but you can clearly see that he loves to play with it.

He likes to run and chase after a laserpointer. You have to be a little creative to prolong his interest on the laser; I try to think of it as you are pretending to be and move like a little bug with the laser. He will engage.

Another thing he loves to do is running and chasing after a treat. To get him to exercise, we sometimes throw a treat at one of the condo to another and he will run after it just like dogs would play fetch. He will run thinking he’s a horse.

Churu is his absolute favourite treat and of all, he loves the chicken flavour the most. Not a big fan of salmon flavour.

Scottish fold adoption markham onCute Mandu Story:

Mandu is like most other cats – terrified of tiny humans.
It was the first time introducing Mandu to my nephew and niece who were 4 years old at that time. At the sound of door knocks, Mandu of course scurried off to his hiding spot. Wanting to ease him into the introduction, we preoccupied the babies with other things for 15 minutes or so. Not too long after, Mandu crawled out of his hiding spot, curious of the little humans, started to approach them. Like most 4 year olds with impulse control issue, it only took seconds before they got so excited to the point of screaming and running and chasing the cat to his corner again. Finally when he realized his back was against the wall with nowhere to go, he decided to stand up for himself and hissed at them for 5 seconds. Then ran underneath the sofa when we took the kids away from him. This was last year and never saw Mandu hiss at a human being ever again – he’d rather hide than scare little ones.

Why is Mandu Being Rehomed?

It started with my allergies to cat dander. Did a whole bunch of strategies to keep the allergen level down at home like air purifier, humidifier, daily vacuuming, frequent brushing and etc. We did manage to get the allergic reaction down to a reasonable level but one day, it convinced us that he deserves better than this.

Mandu’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A family that can truly love him and give him frequent attention. Preferably a home with some of the family member stays frequently at home. Mandu seems to really like having another animal in the house.
