Meet Sparky, German Shepard Lab Mix Dog For Adoption in Tarzana California

Sparky is a Male German Shepard Lab Mix Dog for adoption to a very loving home in or near Tarzana, California. With his warm smile and expressive brown eyes, Sparky is a great big lovable companion, in need of a home where he does not have to spend so much time alone.  His current owner loves Sparky, but worries about his separation anxiety.   He is crate trained and regularly spends  a chunk of his day in his crate to help keep him relaxed when there is nobody at home.  Being a mix of a German Shepherd and a Lab, he’s got a great personality and is smart enough to keep you entertained.
He is such a very special dog,  and if you really need some company around the house, he could be a wonderful buddy while you do your chores or cozy up on the couch. Sparky is 12 years old and weighs 70 pounds pounds.  So he isn’t a demanding dog for exercise and will be very happy just to do a walk now and then. If you work from home, or have somebody at home most of the time, then you will be a great fit for each other.
Sparky has been neutered and is up to date on his shots. He is in excellent health and has no behavior issues at all. Sparky is very good with respectful children and other dogs. He is a wonderful companion. Although he is a senior, he still has many years of love, laughter and companionship to offer. Please adopt this handsome older dog today.

Sparky’s Personality

He’s not food aggressive, he’s affectionate, when he’s around people he remains calm, he doesn’t chew things and I love his coat/look.

Sparky’s Current Home Environment

I used to live in a house but now I live in an apartment. It’s a fairly big apartment and he gets by well but I do have to walk him a few times a day to make sure he’s getting exercise and has the ability to go to the bathroom. When I leave, I put him in a crate because he does have separation anxiety. I try not to leave him for more than 4 hours at a time.

Sparky’s Current Family:

Right now I live by myself in an apartment with two dogs so at times it can feel overwhelming to always be back in time to let them out and such.

Sparky’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Sparky loves walks, especially nature walks. He enjoys snacks but is no food aggressive.

Cute Sparky Story:

Whenever people meet Sparky, they take a liking to him. He’ll let them pet him even though he pushes away with his paw-but if you stop he’ll look at you and call you back.

Why is Sparky Being Rehomed?

I won’t be able to be home as much as I used to be so I worry about letting him out and such, especially when it’s just me taking care of him.

Sparky’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

In the ideal situation, I am looking for someone who has a house and a few family members so the responsibility can be spread out.
