Meet Harlem and York, 2 Tabby Cats For Adoption in New York NY

If you have been looking for a very special pair of cats for adoption in NYC, Harlem and York would love to meet you. Every cat is unique, and this pair are no exception. Both cats are adult females, 6 and 7 years of age.  Harlem is the smaller of the two, weighing about 8 pounds. York is bigger at 12 pounds. They are both very pretty cats, sporting gorgeous stripes of brown, black and gold.

Both cats are spayed, up to date on shots and very healthy. They are a delight to spend time with – playful at times, and very cuddly and snugly the rest of the time. They love to watch the world through a sunny window, and are very easy to care for.

Harlem and York’s owners are a couple who recently welcomed their second child. Life has taken on a much faster pace, and they are running out of space in their apartment. They love  Harlem and York very much, and are worried that the cats are not getting the attention and playtime they need and very much deserve. They are hoping to find the cats a home where they will be cherished, and kept safe, happy and healthy for the rest of their lives.

If you have been looking for a pair of tabby cats with amazing personalities, look no further! Harlem and York are about the most loving pair of cats you will find, and they can’t wait to meet you and purr their way into your heart and home. Adopt these gorgeous tabby cats today.

Harlem and York’s Personality

One cat, Harlem, is physically smaller than the other. Harlem is very loving and physically active. She likes to jump and climb but does not cause damage. Harlem is very kind to all, smart and self-sufficient. She also likes to sleep in soft, comfortable places such as on a furry coat or blanket.

The other cat, York, is physically large. But York has a much smaller personality. She loves cuddling with adults and sleeping all day long. The two cats play together, but York does not jump around or run around otherwise. York loves to eat and is more helpless than Harlem. She will simply lie around and fall asleep anywhere (IE: hardwood floor).

We adopted both cats from local shelters in New York City. Both cats were adopted in 2014.

Why is Harlem and York Being Rehomed?

We are no longer able to devote time to playing with our cats. When we first adopted our cats (when they were young kittens), my wife and I were unmarried and able to devote hours each day to playing with our cats. Over the past 5 years, we have gotten married, given birth to a girl who is now a 2.5 year-old toddler and we recently gave birth to a second child who is now an 8-week old newborn.

As our living and financial circumstances have changed drastically, we are no longer able to spend time playing with our cats. We feel that this is unfair and stressful for them and would like to rehome them so that they can receive more love.
