Unfortunately, Luly is a sensitive dog and her owner suffers from anxiety too. At times this makes Luly more anxious. A vicious cycle of anxiety then ensues, which is not good for either Luly or her owner. They hope to find her a home where Luly has a little more relaxed environment with more chance to enjoy her own space and maybe chase some butterflies or relax at your feet. She likes kids, but it would be best that any new home not have younger kids who are generally calmer around a dog.

Luly’s Personality
Luly is a very sweet dog. She loves to roll around in the grass, chase squirrels and carpenter bees and loves to give kisses. She is eager to please and loves treats/meal time. She is anxious and scares easily. Her safe place is her crate, where she prefers to spend most of her time (although she comes out frequently to check on what we are doing, or ask for pets). She does not like loud or unexpected noises, and sometimes even scares herself. She gets over the scare quickly and is eager to join the fun after a quick reset in her crate. Luly is overall a sweet, submissive dog that is a bit anxious.
I’ve been going back and forth for a while about re-homing Luly, but I know that it is the right decision. I was so happy to find this organization, which helps to re-home pets without taking them to a shelter! I am so thankful in advance for any help or guidance you are able to provide!
Luly is a bit anxious. Noises (mostly loud or unexpected) startle her. She is otherwise a very sweet girl. But she does have anxiety and scares easily.
Why is Luly Being Rehomed?
I adopted Luly from the local animal shelter about 3 years ago. She is very sweet, smart, eager to please and gets along great with other dogs. She is still a bit wary of men (including my husband) and as mentioned above, she is an anxious dog. Noises (loud or unexpected) startle her and have her going straight for her crate (where she prefers to spend most of her time).
We have done what we can to help desensitize her, and she has come a long way from when we first brought her home. The issue is I also have anxiety, which I know she can sense. Her being anxious only makes me more anxious.. and the cycle goes on (which is the biggest reason for wanting to re-home her).
Her only other dog companion is our 9 lbs Chihuahua/min pin mix. They get along great, but I feel she would do really well with a dog more her size so they could actually ‘play’ (and we live in a modestly sized house, so no room for another big dog). She is very submissive and I have never seen her be aggressive. I’m hoping to find another home that better suits her personality, without having to take her back to a shelter (which would only cause her more anxiety).

Luly would be the ideal companion for a senior or retired couple. She would thrive with a strong routine where she is not faced with a lot of people, strange noises and surprises. She has so much love to offer and would add so much joy to the lives of her new owners.
