Meet Zero – a handsome young Basenji Rat Terrier mix looking for a quiet, rural home near Denver.

This healthy 18 month old male puppy is a nice mix of both breeds. He is very smart, agile, athletic, determined, affectionate and devoted. He can be very attuned to his owner, but is easily distracted by environmental triggers that make him feel anxious.

Currently, Zero feels like a fish out of water. He is living in the city with his owner, and the constant noise and coming and going of people and other pets is more than Zero can handle.

He is a dog that needs a quiet and very routine life. He would do very well in an adults only home in a rural area, where he won’t be continually triggered by city noise and commotion.

He is a lovely little dog, and has undergone extensive training. He has some ‘reactive behaviors’ which are best dealt with through a change of environment – a home in which Zero will feel safe and secure, so that he can focus on being the best companion ever.

Zero would make a wonderful companion for retired or work from home dog lovers living in a rural area.

If you have the right type of home for this handsome boy, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Reason For Rehoming

I am a professional dog trainer. This dog belongs to my client and I have offered to help rehome him.
He lives in downtown Denver where there is constant stimulation and dogs everywhere. My client, the owner, has made incredible progress, but we feel that any further progress with the reactivity will be extremely difficult due to the environmental challenges. My client has worked very hard on behaviour modification and his personal and professional life has suffered for it. Together we decided that it is in his best interest, as well as the dog’s best interest, for him to find a different home in a less stimulation environment.
