Lucy - Toy Poodle For Adoption Near Seattle WA

Lucy - toy poodle for adoption near seattle waLucy has found her forever home with Barbara, a senior dog lover in Boise, Idaho. Barbara had been heartbroken and very lonely after having lost her 14 year old Toy Poodle, Precious, to cancer in April. When her brother saw Lucy’s adoption story, he knew they were a perfect match, and soon Barbara and Lucy were united.

Lucy is now in the loving care of Barbara, and from all reports, the two are bonding very well. We are so happy to have been able to bring these two together. It is always nice when rehoming a dog makes life so much better for both the dog and their new owner!

Lucy’s Personality

Athletic, she loves walks and is even great off leash on trails.
Sweet – loves to curl up on a lap after a walk or play session
Smart – knows many commands and learned them extremely quickly
Non aggressive – friendly to most dogs and people she meets. Exceptions would be dogs who are aggressive with her, then she stands her ground, and pretty jealous of our toddler son.
Beautiful – bright intelligent eyes, shiny coat, just the sweetest little face.

Lucy’s Current Home Environment

Family with a 2 year old. Alone for 8 hours 3 days a week but otherwise home with the family.

Lucy’s Current Family:

We adopted Lucy more than four years ago when she was 11 weeks old. We had our son 2 years ago and she has been jealous and acting out ever since. It breaks our heart that our family will lose Lucy, but it is the right thing for her. Lucy has not been the same the past few years, she is anxious and unhappy sharing attention.

Lucy’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Eats Blue small breed kibble with occasional canned food added as a treat. Loves walks, playing fetch, learning and doing tricks. She would love an agility course. She loves lying on laps and in the sunshine.

Why is Lucy Being Rehomed?

She does not do well living with our toddler, although she is gentle with kids in general. She has been anxious and not as happy since he was born.

Lucy’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Someone who can be home with Lucy, giving her lots of play and cuddles. I think she would do best in a home without children or other pets. She responds best to a calm environment.
