💕 Mia’s Story: The Sweetest Little Old Soul in Brooklyn
If cats could write memoirs, Mia’s would be titled “Seventeen Years of Purrfection (With a Few Cabinet Break-Ins).”
She’s a soft-pawed Tortoiseshell philosopher with golden eyes that have seen everything from the inside of a cardboard box to the inside of your heart — and she’s still just as curious as ever.

Mia’s story begins like all great love stories do — with patience, persistence, and one small miracle. When her person first brought her home, Mia spent the first night under the bed, too shy to make eye contact. But by the second night, something shifted. Her human woke up to find her curled up on their chest, purring like a little motorboat, as if to say, “Okay… you’re my person now.” That’s the magic of Mia — she takes her time, but once she’s decided you’re hers, she’ll love you like she invented the word.
Now at seventeen, Mia has fully embraced her “wise aunt who brings snacks and gives excellent life advice” era. She’s a mellow companion who appreciates the finer things in life: a warm lap, soft music, and a sunbeam she can call her own. She’s got a few “dog-like” quirks, too — she’ll follow you from room to room, learn your routines, and occasionally attempt to open your kitchen cabinets (she swears she’s only checking for extra treats).
Mia is incredibly empathetic — the kind of cat who knows when you’ve had a bad day and will quietly settle beside you, purring until the world feels a little less heavy. Her purr is more than sound; it’s a kind of therapy. She’s the furry embodiment of comfort itself.
Her current family adores her deeply, but life has taken them down a road where travel and changing environments have become part of the routine — something Mia finds stressful. She thrives on peace, predictability, and familiarity, not the chaos of suitcases and airports. For her happiness and wellbeing, her family made the incredibly loving decision to find her a quiet, stable forever home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by the warmth she so freely gives.
Mia’s ideal home? Somewhere calm and cozy, with someone who appreciates the little things — like the sound of gentle purring, the beauty of aging gracefully, and the joy of having a cat who still believes in love at first nap. She’d be happiest as the one and only feline queen of your heart (and home), where she can receive the daily dose of affection she so richly deserves.
If you open your heart to Mia, she’ll repay you a thousandfold in quiet companionship, gentle laughter, and the kind of love that only comes from a cat who’s truly lived. Her story isn’t over — in fact, her best chapter might begin with you.

Mia’s Personality
I would describe Mia as a cat with a doglike personality, before I adopted her she was fostered by a woman who owned dogs and so I image she maybe picked up on their personalities. Mia is extremely smart, I was able to teach her how to sit, give me her paw and shake. She’s very timid at first but once she gets to know and trust you, she will want to be on your lap or next to you almost always. She is extremely quirky and sweet, almost too sweet I would say, at least, to a fault. She is used to babies and toddlers and is extremely patient with them.
Mia’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Honestly Mia is so chill, she is okay with any type of toy but she mostly loves cardboard boxes to lounge in. Her favorite food and treats are blue buffalo wilderness crunchy chicken cat treats and blue buffalo anything wet food.
Cute Mia Story:
When I first adopted Mia she was extremely timid, i tried lots of things to try to get her to come to me but she spent the first night under my bed. The second night I ended up falling asleep and woke up to her curled up on my chest, I didn’t even feel her at all.
Why is Mia Being Rehomed?
I love Mia, she is my family but unfortunately I had to leave her with my parents because my husband travels a lot for work and we’re on the road a lot. Mia does not do well with travel/change in environment, she gets extremely stressed. I thought it would be better for her to stay at home where she’s familiar with her environment. Unfortunately my parents have had some health issues come up and my mom is having a hard time having to take care of Mia.
Mia’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Someone who can give her the love and attention she deserves. She’s really an easy cat, doesn’t require a lot, just attention and love.
