Health Problems: Yes Coltrane has asthma, which was diagnosed when he was about 4 years old. He does very well, as we manage it with medication (Theophylline). We administer it with in pill form once per day. He also is on a urinary diet because he had bladder stones once. He very much enjoys the urinary food, so it’s not a problem. And since he’s been on the urinary diet (2 years), he’s had no issues.

Coltrane’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Coltrane loves the little furry mice toys that have a little rattle/jingle inside. We play with those every night before bed by throwing them to him, and he loves to bat them out of the air and then chase them. He also really loves wand toys. His favorite treats are Greenies of any flavor as well as Churu, which he absolutely LOVES. Churu makes giving his pill very easy b/c he loves Churu so much (we chop up the pill and mix it into a Churu packet, and he laps up every last drop!). Coltrane also loves to sit by the window and watch the birds and squirrels. And he LOVES when we sit and watch TV so he can be on our laps.
Cute Coltrane Story:
The most heartwarming thing to me is how much other people love him when they meet him. He loves to put on a show by rolling around on the floor when people come into our house to show off how cute he is. When we travel, our pet sitters always say how much they love Coltrane and that he comes to sit on their lap while they’re at the house. The whole staff at the veterinarian’s office LOVES Coltrane – they’re always saying how well-behaved and sweet he is, which brings us joy. I also think it’s super cute that he loves to get in the clothes dryer after we’ve dried a load of clothes, often before we’ve gotten all the clean clothes out. Of course he loves a warm spot!
Why is Coltrane Being Rehomed?
My wife and I are moving out of our current house to a situation that unfortunately is not pet friendly.
Coltrane’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
We’re looking for a family that will embrace this loving boy as much as we have for the last 7+ years after we adopted him from Charlotte’s Animal Control. Someone will need to want a true lap cat and give him some play time every day if possible. We’d love to know that the adopting home doesn’t mind giving him his medication every day and maintaining him on his urinary diet.
We would LOVE to stay in touch with the new family; however, we’re open to not being in touch if they’re not open to it.
