He has also shown guarding behavior toward his primary caregiver and has become increasingly uncomfortable around children, particularly when tired or overstimulated. Ollie’s Personality
Ollie is an extremely intelligent, affectionate, emotionally sensitive dog who bonds very deeply with his main person. He loves cuddling, following his favorite person around the home, and spending quiet time together on the couch.
He is highly communicative and expressive, and his family feels he understands much more language and emotion than most dogs. Ollie loves outdoor walks, sniffing adventures, cool weather, grass, and snow. He enjoys gentle activity and absolutely loves peaceful environments where he can relax and feel safe.
He is fully house trained, crate trained, and in excellent physical health. He does very well with grooming and veterinary visits when handled gently and supported appropriately.
Ollie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Ollie loves squeaky toys and playing tug-of-war. He enjoys Minties dental treats, bully sticks, frozen peas, broccoli, and exploring the neighborhood on sniff walks.
Cute Ollie Story:
Ollie likes to “direct” his walks and has different preferred walking routes depending on the weather and time of day. During daytime walks, he prefers tree-lined streets and open spaces. At night, he likes quieter routes around the block. When it rains, he has a completely different preferred route and lets his people know exactly which direction he wants to go. His little routines and strong opinions make him endlessly entertaining and lovable.
Why is Ollie Being Rehomed?
Ollie’s family believes that city apartment living simply is not the right fit for his sensitive temperament. Since being adopted as a rescue dog, he has become increasingly anxious living in a noisy urban environment surrounded by constant stimulation.
His owners have worked very hard to help him feel safe and comfortable, including multiple rounds of training, medication support, management strategies, and routine adjustments. While he has made progress at times, they feel that continuing to live in a busy apartment environment is causing ongoing stress for him.
They deeply love Ollie and want him to have the chance to live a calmer, happier life in an environment where he can truly relax and feel secure.
Ollie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Ollie’s ideal home would be a quiet, low-stimulation environment with experienced dog owners who understand anxious or sensitive dogs.
He would likely do best:
- In a quieter suburban or rural setting
- In a home with a fenced yard
- Without children or other pets
- With someone who works from home, is retired, or spends a lot of time at home
- With adopters experienced in positive reinforcement and behavior management
Ollie is deeply affectionate and devoted once he trusts someone. He needs patient, understanding adopters who appreciate sensitive dogs and are willing to give him the structure, calm, and reassurance he needs.
Ollie’s family would love occasional updates or photos showing him happy, comfortable, and adjusting well in his new home.
