We just moved to Nashville and decided to rent a house given the crazy housing market. We chose a house to rent in Green Hills and while I thought I could work it out with the landlord, I must rehome him. He needs a loving home where he can be outside when he wants to.

Hexel’s Personality
Hexel is a 6 year old Australian Shepherd (Aussie) Mix who I rescued 4.5 years ago. He is a wonderful dog – he never chews up anything or takes food off the counter or scratches. He only wants to be by your side and have a yard. He is very sensitive and easily listens to commands. He loves to run outside, protect the yard from other critters, and play with kids.
Hexel has grown up with 3 kids under 10 and is wonderful with them – he does not mind being dressed up in a tutu, having his nails painted, or being the dragon. He just loves the attention. Importantly, he does not initially enjoy other dogs and is dominant. Once the other dog is ok with his dominance, then he is fine.
Hexel did really well with my mom’s Boston Terrier who she got as a puppy. They were best friends before my mom passed and Charley went to a new home. But he has never warmed up to my previous neighbor’s dog so a 1-dog household would be best for Hexel.
He has lived with 2 cats since the time they were kittens. He will chase them away from his food every now and then but otherwise they get along just fine. He loves walks and his tail wags wildly when you even look at him. He loves to sleep on the bed (on his back with his legs straight in the air) and the couch and have his belly rubbed. We are quite devastated at giving up Hexel and want him to have a safe loving home.
Hexel is an Amazing Companion Because He is:
1. The way he sleeps with his paws in the air.
2. His love of belly rubs.
3. He is unbelievably loyal.
4. He is so easy to be around. Sometimes you forget he’s there!
5. How soft he is.
Hexel’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
He loves being loved on first and foremost! He loves to follow you around, roll on the floor next to you if you’re doing abs or yoga, go in the car with you, etc. He will sit happily while you brush him. He just loves being loved. Otherwise, he likes to run in the yard, chew his raw hide bones, and play with his stuffed toy!
